beetroot rice

Ingredients for Beetroot Rice:

1. Ghee – 2 big spoons

    Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Urud dal – ½ small spoon

    Asafoetida – A pinch

2. Ginger-garlic paste – 2 small spoons

3. Beetroot – 1, medium size grated after removing skin

4. Salt – For taste

    Chilli powder – ½ small spoon

    Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

5. Cooked basmati rice – 2 cups

How to prepare Beetroot Rice?

1. Heat 2 big spoons of ghee and add mustard seeds.

2. When it sputters add ½ small spoon urud dal and a pinch of asafoetida.

3. Fry the contents and add ginger-garlic paste. Fry for one more minute.

4. Add grated beetroot and saute for a few minutes.

5. Add ingredients no: 4 and mix the contents.

6. Add cooked rice and toss it. Put off the flame.
