Anaswara Rajan is a promising young actress who works in Malayalam films. She first came into spotlight after playing Manju Warrier’s daughter Athira in 2017 movie, Udaharanam Sujatha. She portrayed a 10th standard student, an adamant and short-tempered girl in the movie, winning everyone’s hearts. Very soon she became the youth face of Mollywood, earned a string of hits through Super Sharanya, Neru, Rekha Chithram, Abraham Ozler and Guruvayoorambala Nadayil. Anaswara has travelled through different dreams like teacher, RJ, ramp model and finally settled with actress.
Her debut flick was Udaharanam Sujatha
Anaswara Rajan hails from Minur, Kannur. Though not a trained dancer, she actively participated in mono acts and similar events to win prizes at school competitions. She also acts in stage plays of her local club. As an actress, she first appeared in a short film and also a few ads, before she got selected through auditions for her debut flick, Udaharanam Sujatha. She came to know about the auditions of the movie through their family friend & director Liju Thomas of Kavi Udheshichathu fame.
Thanneer Mathan Dinangal – Anaswara Rajan’s first lead role
In 2019, she played a school girl in the commercial hit, Thanneer Mathan Dinangal. She shared screen space with Naslen and Mathew Thomas, and the movie became a perfect launch pad for all the three actors, who later established themselves in the industry. Following the success of the film, she started getting more films from Mollywood. Super Sharanya became the major turning point of her career, and there was no turning back after that. One after another, her films registered hits at box office, and she turned the new young face of Mollywood. Anaswara Rajan also started getting roles from other industries.
Anaswara’s Tamil debut through Thugs in 2023
She marked her Tamil debut through Thugs in 2023. It was an official remake of the Malayalam film, Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil. Anaswara Rajan’s Hindi debut also happened through the remake of a Malayalam film. In the Hindi remake of Bangalore Days, titled Yaariyaan (2023), she played a supporting role opposite Meezan Jafri. Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier also played an important role in the film. But the film was a huge flop.
In 2024, she returned to Malayalam films and made an impressive performance of a rape victim in Mohanlal starrer, Neru. The film was critically appreciated and was commercially successful. She later played the female lead of Nivin Pauley in Malayalee from India, where her role was less-significant except a song sequence. She became a part of Malayalam hit films like Rekha Chithram starring Asif Ali, Abraham Ozler starring Mammootty & Jayaram and Guruvayoorambala Nadayil starring Prithiraj & Basil Joseph. Now she is a popular face of Malayalam cinema, with handful of opportunities from other languages too.
2025 was a good year for Anaswara Rajan
In 2025, she marked her Telugu debut through Champion opposite Roshan Meka. She also plays lead role opposite Ravi Krishna in the sequel of 7/G Rainbow Colony, Tamil film. 2025 has been a good year for her. After becoming a part of the crime thriller Rekha Chithram, she acted in Malayalam films – Painkili (box office hit), Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal (positive reviews)
Her appearance in the black comedy Vyasanasametham Bandhumithradhikal opposite Siju Sunny received appreciation. The song from the film, “Sambrani Penthiri” was an instant chart buster. She shared screen space with Sajin Gopu in Painkili. The film was criticized for bad script. She also shared screen space with Indrajith in Mr & Mrs. Bachelor the same year.

1. She is not a trained classical dancer, yet won many prizes for mono act, skits and plays.
2. Her debut film Udaharanam Sujatha is a remake of Hindi film Nil Battey Sannata, released in 2016, and it was also made in Tamil titled Amma Kanakku. All the three versions received positive reviews.
3. She has acted in a short film directed by Ratheesh, makeup man of Dulquer Salman, and she also wants to do a movie with DQ in future.
