Kireedam – Movie Trivia
Akkam Pakkam song belongs to the movie, Kireedam, which is the remake of the Malayalam iconic film with the same name, released in the late 1980s. The film starring Mohanlal has a more realistic treatment, and its climax is still haunting. Unlike the Malayalam version, the Tamil film had a positive climax. Mohanlal starrer Kireedam (Malayalam) had a sequel named Chenkol, which was equally powerful as its prequel. This film too has a tragic end, and both parts are considered among the career-best performances of Lal as an actor. To add, Kireedam and Chenkol refer to two powerful symbols of a ruler.
Ajith and Trisha have appeared in multiple movies together: Ji (2005), Kireedam (2007), Mankatha (2011), Yennai Arindhaal (2015), and recently in Vidaamuyarchi (2025), and their pairing has received a lot of appreciation.
