The other sub-deities of Ottoor Krishna temple include Ganapathi (Ganesha), Vettakkorumakan (a form of hunter god), and Nagas (serpent deities). The presiding deity is also worshipped as Lord Vishnu similar several other Vishnu and Krishna temples of Kerala. The temple has a round sanctum (vatta sreekovil) with a copper-covered roof.
🕉 About Vaishnava idols
Vaishnava (Vishnu) idols in Kerala are generally found in three postures: Standing (Sthanaka murti), Seated (Aasana murti) and Reclining (Sayana murti) — for example, the deity at the very famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram.
Among these, the standing and seated postures are the most common in Kerala temples. A few other examples of seated Vishnu idols include the Perumkulangara Mahavishnu Temple at Kunduvaṁ Paadam in Kadampazhipuram, Palakkad, and the Ananthapuram Temple at Kumbla, Kasaragod.
