Yukti Thareja – The lead heroine of ‘Marco’

Yukti Thareeja is a model and film actress who currently works in Malayalam film industry. She marked her acting debut with Marco (2024), playing female lead opposite Unni Mukundan. Dubbed across different languages, the movie fared well at box office. She has three more projects in pipeline. She was ranked fourth in MTV Supermodel of the Year 2019, and got instant fame after featuring in the music video, Lut Gaye.

Yukti Thareja hails from Haryana

Yukti Thareja was born on 5 January 2001 in Kaithal, Haryana to Parveen Thareja and Rita Thareja. She won Delhi Times Fresh face in 2017 after which she took the career serious. She started her modelling career in 2018 by doing catalogue shoots for online portals like Hallmark Suits and House of Pink. She was also featured in an advertisement for Grofers.

She rose to fame after she was ranked fourth in MTV Supermodel of the Year 2019. It helped her to get more offers from entertainment industry. She also gained a huge fan base after this show.

She became popular through the music video, Lut Gaye

Yukti was seen sharing screen space with Emraan Hashmi in the music video, Lut Gaye. The song sung by Jubin Nautiyal was a chartbuster and already crossed the magical figure of 1 billion views. The song was released in 2021. Although there is no official confirmation, the music video suggests that the song was based on true events from 1991.

In 2024, she marked her acting debut with Malayalam action thriller, Marco. The movie directed by Haneef Adeni, received praises for its action content, and is hailed as the most violent Indian film till now. She has also worked in Telugu films ‘Rangabali’ and ‘KJQ’ before she bagged Marco. But Marco got released first.

1. She was featured in the music video, Lut Gaye which made her immensely popular.

2. While she participated in MTV Supermodel contest, the show was judged by Malaika Arora, Masaba Gupta, and Milind Suman. Ujjwala Raut was the mentor.

3. Initially her parents were skeptical about her modelling career. So she took her mom to some of her photoshoots and finally managed to convince her parents.

4. She is popular and active on social media, through her handles.

5. She won Delhi Times Fresh face in 2017.
