Sukrutha Wagle – South Indian film actress and a contestant of ‘Bigg boss Kannada 4’

Sukrutha Wagle is a south Indian film actress and model, who predominantly works in Kannada film industry. She marked her film debut with 2013 Kannada film, Jatta and Telugu movie debut in 2019 through the movie, Rama Chakkani Seetha. She is also known as a wide card entry of ‘Bigg boss Kannada 4’ in 2016. She has played both lead and parallel lead roles on big screen, and has also made her appearance in a few short films. Her other Kannada movies include – Bahuparaak, Flop For Hit, Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu, Megha Alias Maggi and Dayavittu Gamanisi.

An air hostess turned actor

Sukrutha Wagle was born in Manipal, Karnataka in year 1991. She grew up in Chitradurga. After completing Bachelor of Science in Hospitality from Pondicherry, she is currently pursuing her LLB studies. She started her career as a model and a photographer. Her entry to modeling industry offered film roles as well. She was given the first break to Kannada films by director B. M. Giriraj through the thriller movie, Jatta in 2013.

The low budget movie received rave reviews from critics but was not a commercial hit. She received best debutant award for her impressive performance as a feminist in the movie. She also won Best actress Chitrasanthe Awards for the lead role. Her dialogue delivery and expression, and also chemistry with co-star Kishore were well received. It helped her to earn more meaty roles from Kannada film industry.

She appeared in critically acclaimed movie, Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu

Then she acted in Bahuparaak, followed by Flop For Hit, Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu, Dayavittu Gamanisi and Megha Alias Maggi. The movie Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu was critically acclaimed and well received by public. She played a sadistic, tomboy villain in Megha Alias Maggi. These movies helped her to earn fame and recognition in Sandalwood. In 2019 she marked her Telugu debut with Rama Chakkani Seetha.

1. Vishala Hrudayada Kannadigaru, The False Promise, Life Cycle etc are some of the short films in which Wagle appeared.

2. She worked as an air hostess for three years before she made an impressive film debut through Jatta.

3. Though she has worked in only a few, most of her Kannada films were critically acclaimed, and have won many film awards. Yet the critically acclaimed film Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu  didn’t win any state award.
