Steamed Bread and Butter Pudding dessert

Ingredients for Steamed Bread and Butter Pudding:

  1. One-day-old bread, cut into small square pieces – One cup
  2. Cold milk – As required
  3. Sugar – 4 big spoons
    Butter taken from fridge and grated – 4 big spoons
    Raisins – 4 big spoons
    Cashews- 4 big spoons
    Nutmeg powder – A pinch
  4. Egg – 1, beaten
  5. Sugar powder – To decorate

How to prepare Steamed Bread and Butter Pudding?

  1. Take bread pieces in a bowl. Pour milk and soak for 30 minutes.
  2. Strain it and squeeze the bread.
  3. Smash it using a fork. There should not be any lumps.
  4. Keep the remaining milk aside.
  5. Add ingredients 3 to the bread and mix well.
  6.  Add beaten egg and mix again.
  7. Add that kept milk to this mixture till it gets a consistency enough to pour as batter.
  8. Grease a mould and steam cook for 45 minutes.
  9.  Allow it to cool and put it upside down.
  10. Sprinkle powdered sugar on its top and serve with custard or ice cream.
