
Ingredients for Steamed Bread and Butter Pudding:
- One-day-old bread, cut into small square pieces – One cup
- Cold milk – As required
- Sugar – 4 big spoons
Butter taken from fridge and grated – 4 big spoons
Raisins – 4 big spoons
Cashews- 4 big spoons
Nutmeg powder – A pinch - Egg – 1, beaten
- Sugar powder – To decorate
How to prepare Steamed Bread and Butter Pudding?
- Take bread pieces in a bowl. Pour milk and soak for 30 minutes.
- Strain it and squeeze the bread.
- Smash it using a fork. There should not be any lumps.
- Keep the remaining milk aside.
- Add ingredients 3 to the bread and mix well.
- Add beaten egg and mix again.
- Add that kept milk to this mixture till it gets a consistency enough to pour as batter.
- Grease a mould and steam cook for 45 minutes.
- Allow it to cool and put it upside down.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar on its top and serve with custard or ice cream.
