Trivia: The album had three songs composed by A. T. Ummer. Yesudas’ solo – “Antharindriya Daahangal” and two solos of Janaki, “Rakendu Kirangal” and “Unni Aarariro“, which were extremely popular for their melodious tunes and renditions. Unfortunately, both the solos of Janaki were copied from Bollywood songs of 1970s. “Rakendu Kirangal” was a direct lift of Lata Mangeshkar’s popular song – Pal Bhar Mein from Swamy, released one year prior to Avalude Ravukal. The song was filmed on Shabana Azmi. The popular lullaby of Janaki, “Unni Aarariro” is yet another direct lift of a solo rendition of Lata Mangeshkar, composed by R. D. Burman for Jheel Ke Us Paar released in 1973. It’s a less-heard sad track, “Kah Rahe Hain Yeh Ansoo” filmed on Mumtaz. Needless to say, Malayalam lullaby was extremely popular when got released. As far as I know, this is the 1st Malayalam film A-certified. Movie was done by a leading director with mainstream actors, but with a bold content. Later the director IV Sasi married the lead heroine, Seema, who debuted with this cult classic.
