Paneer Lababdar
Ingredients for Paneer Lababdar:
1. Paneer – 200 gm
2. Chilli powder – ¾ small spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
Salt – As required
3. Butter – 1 small spoon
Oil – 1 small spoon
4. Cumin seeds – ½ small spoon
Cloves – 2
Cinnamon – 1 piece
Bay leaf (Vayana Ila) – 1
5. Onion – 1, chopped fine
6. Ginger garlic paste – 1 small spoon
7. Tomato – 4, made into a smooth paste
8. Curd – 1 big spoon
Salt – For taste
Chilli powder – 1 small spoon
Coriander powder – 1 small spoon
Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon
Gram flour (besan) – 1 small spoon
9. Coriander leaves – To decorate
How to prepare Paneer Lababdar?
1. If it’s frozen paneer, soak it in hot water for 10 minutes.
2. Strain water from paneer and marinate it using ingredients no: 2.
3. Heat oil and butter in a pan and fry ingredients no: 4.
4. Add onions and sauté till it turns golden brown.
5. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry again, followed by tomato paste.
6. Add ingredients no: 8 and sauté till water content is fully absorbed and a thin layer of oil appears on its surface.
7. Add sufficient water to it and allow the gravy to boil.
8. Add marinated paneer and coriander leaves.
9. Cook the curry till the gravy thickens and it fully covers paneer pieces.
