Ney Pathal

Ingredients for Ney Pathal:

1. Raw Rice (Pachari) – 1 cup 

    Payasam Rice (Puzhukkalari) – 2 cups 

2. Coconut – Half, grated 

    Cumin – ½ teaspoon 

    Fennel – ½ teaspoon 

    Shallots – 15 

3. Coconut Oil – As needed for cooking 

How to prepare Ney Pathal?

1. Soak both types of rice separately after washing them. 

2. Grind the second set of ingredients coarsely in a mixer. 

3. Drain the soaked rice and grind it coarsely without adding too much water. 

4. Add the ground coconut mixture and salt to taste, then knead well. 

5. Heat oil in a deep pan. 

6. Shape the dough into small balls and flatten each ball into a round shape using your palm. 

7. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown and remove.
