Vatsal Sheth – Hindi film and television actor of ‘Taarzan: The Wonder Car’ fame

Vatsal Sheth is a popular Hindi film and television actor, best known for playing the lead role of Ajay Devgan’s son in his debut flick, Taarzan: The Wonder Car. Though the movie was a flop he gained recognition as an actor. Nanhe Jaisalmer, Heroes, Paying Guests etc are some of his noted roles on Bollywood screen. After being less successful in Bollywood, he moved to small screen and earned fame and recognition. He played lead role in a number of Hindi soaps, and is currently one of the most sought actors of mini screen. His wife Ishita Dutta is also an actress with whom he shared screen space for the TV show, Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar. Bollywood actress and Miss India 2005 – Tanushree Dutta of Aashique Banaya Aapne fame is his sister-in-law.

He worked in television, worked in a few movies and then returned back to mini screen

Vatsal Sheth was born in Mumbai in 1980. He was born to Gujarati parents. He studied in Mumbai. Though he wanted to pursue engineering studies in software, he dropped the idea to pursue IT after he bagged lead role in TV series, Just Mohabbat in 1996. He played adolescent role of the lead character Jai in the show which was aired between 1996 and 2000 on Sony Entertainment. After that Taarzan: The Wonder Car in 2004 was his next acting role. The movie had a wonder car which garnered public attention easily. Though the movie flopped, he made an impressive debut. However he struggled to get good acting roles and returned back to television.

He gained recognition through small screen roles

Vatsal Sheth was not in spotlight for a few years, till he bagged Ek Hasina Thi – TV serial in 2014. He played lead role in the show, after which he started getting more meaty roles. Since then he played lead roles in a series of soaps which include – Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar, Gehraiyaan, Haasil and Kaun Hai? He played supporting role in 2019-2020 series, Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke.

He was most recently seen in 2020 Bollywood film, Malang. Toh Baat Pakki, Hostel, Season’s Greetings, Jai Ho etc are some other noted appearances in the recent past. He also appeared in2012 short movie, Uncoupled.

Vatsal Sheth – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. He dated Ishita Dutta for a long time before getting secretly married in 2017, function attended by close friends and a few actors. They met for the first time in the sets of Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar in 2016, where both played lead roles.

2. Vatsal once saved Ishita from a mishap in the sets of Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar when her sari stuck in a fan. This heroic act impressed Ishita, and love blossomed between the two. However both kept their relation under wraps till marriage.

3. Vatsal Seth played Ajay Devgan’s son in his debut flick, Taarzan: The Wonder Car. His wife Ishita played Ajay Devgan’s adopted daughter in her debut flick, Drishyam; a strange co-incidence.

4. He was interested in computer programs and games during his childhood days. He dreamt to become a scientist those days. Later he coded a few games and diverted his dreams to become a computer engineer. However to pursue his acting dreams, he left all his childhood dreams.
