Sabarinath – Popular Malayalam TV actor of ‘Sthreepadham’ and ‘Nilavilakku’ fame

Sabarinath was a small screen actor associated with Malayalam entertainment industry, mostly playing character and negative roles. He gained initial recognition through the role of Adithyan, Archana’s husband in popular TV series of Soorya TV – “Nilavilakku”. With the role of the calm husband in the TV series, Sthreepadham opposite Divya, he became a household name among Malayalam TV viewers, and earned him a lot of fans as well. He has also done brief roles on big screen earlier, and most of the roles went unnoticed. He passed away on 18th June 2020 following heart attack. He was 43 only.

Sabarinath hailed from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He earlier worked in Technopark at the time of his marriage with Ayurveda doctor Shanti, and later set up his own business as well. He turned successful in business along with role as an actor on small screen. He received full support from his wife when he got the first break to small screen through the series, Manjukettu, though he faced strong opposition from his father-in-law. He took it as a challenge and earned success in business and entertainment field, finally winning the heart of his father-in-law.

Sabarinath – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. He was a badminton player, and has played till state and national level. He regularly practised the game till his last days.

2. During his study tour of class 10, he fell in love with a batch mate. Though she expressed her feelings towards him many times through expressions, tears, words and acts, he was not courageous enough to express it openly. When the school days came into an end, the untold romance also ended abruptly.

3. Though his father-in-law advised him not to become childish when he joined TV industry, after he became a successful actor, his father-in-law regularly watches his TV serials.

4. He loved reading and reads any stuff without any preference. He also loved photography and trekking.

5. His mother is a retired bank employee. He has two daughters.

6. He played a negative role of Devan in the series, Amala and also in the series, Minnukettu.

7. Once he faced harsh response from a senior lady in train, while he was travelling from capital city to Thrissur. It was only because of the negative shaded roles he played on small screen. Slowly they became friends, and before he left the compartment surprisingly she advised him to do only positive roles on screen.

8. He was into business also, and owns an Ayurvedic resort in Thiruvananthapuram with more than 70 staff. His wife is an Ayurvedic doctor.

9. He had a craze towards cars also, and his first car was Maruti Zen. He dreamt to own a Bentley car some day in future.

10. TV actor Sajan Surya was one of his close friends. The actors occasionally used to go for trips with their families.
