Harish Sivaramakrishnan – The leading male voice of ‘Agam’ music band

Harish Sivaramakrishnan is a Bangalore-based singer associated with ‘Agam’ music band and independent music. He is the leading male voice of the music band which came to limelight for the first time after winning “Ooh la la la” – Music reality show hosted by Sun TV, and judged by A. R. Rahman. The Inner Self Awakens (2012) was their debut album, followed by “A Dream to Remember“, and film music debut through bilingual film, Solo in 2017. The songs from the album became instant chartbuster. This rock band based on contemporary, Carnatic and progressive music is immensely popular among youngsters.

Harish Sivaramakrishnan hails from Shoranur in Palakkad district. He completed his engineering degree from the prestigious BITS Pilani. He collaborated with a group of friends at BITS to form ‘Agam’ music band in 2003. Their musical journey started in an apartment studio where they began experimenting with different forms of music. He carried the music band, along with his successful professional career as an engineer and designer at UX and UI’s. After winning the reality show, “Ooh la la la” there was no turning back, and the band went on to establish as one of the leading music bands from south India. Carnatic progressive-rock band Agam is associated with fusion music mostly, and their live performances are instant hits. They tour extensively in India and abroad.

Swamy Seetharaman, Ganesh Ram Nagarajan, Jagadish Natarajan, Sivakumar Nagarajan, Aditya Kasyap and T Praveen Kumar are other main members of Agam band. A few members have been replaced such as Suraj Satheesh. The band has been featured in KAPPA TV. In 2017 they composed two tracks – Oru Vanchi Pattu & Thaalolam for Solo (film). The song ‘Oru Vanchi Pattu’ marked Harish’s debut as a playback singer.

1. He formally trained Carnatic music from Chembai Kodandarama Bhagavathar and Ayamkudi Mani.

2. He is an engineer, marketer, designer, singer and rockstar.

3. He was one of the first engineers to work on Adobe’s Flex platform.

4. Apart from being known as a rock star, he also conducts at least two or three Carnatic kacheris every year, which he keeps as low profile.
