Green Gram Spinach Curry (Cherupayar Paripp – Cheera Poricha Curry)
Ingredients for Green Gram Spinach Curry (Cherupayar Paripp – Cheera Poricha Curry):
1. Green gram dal (Cherupayar paripp) – ¼ cup
2. Coconut – ¼ part of a small coconut, scrapped
Red chillies – 2
Cumin seeds – ¾ small spoon
3. Red spinach chopped – 2 cups
4. Salt – For taste
5. Coconut oil – 1 big spoon
6. Mustard – ½ small spoon
Urud dal (black gram dal) – ½ small spoon (optional)
Red chillies – 2 or 3
Curry leaves – A little
How to prepare Green Gram Spinach Curry (Cherupayar Paripp – Cheera Poricha Curry)?
1. Cook dal adding sufficient water and smash well.
2. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 2.
3. Cook spinach and blend well using a mixer.
4. Add salt, coconut paste, dal and sufficient water to spinach.
5. Boil all the contents together.
6. Heat oil in a pan and sputter mustard seeds.
7. Fry urud dal, red chillies and curry leaves too, and add to curry.
