Gooseberry Pickle (Nellika Achar)
Ingredients for Gooseberry Pickle (Nellika Achar):
1. Oil – 4 small spoons
2. Gooseberry – 1 kg, cut into pieces
3. Salt – For taste
4. Ginger – 2 pieces, crushed
Garlic – 2 full, crushed
5. Mustard – 1 small spoon
Curry leaves – As needed
6. Chilli powder – 2 small spoons
Turmeric powder – 1/2 small spoon
Asafoetida powder – 1 small spoon
Fenugreek powder – 1 small spoon
7. Sugar – 1 small spoon
How to prepare Gooseberry Pickle (Nellika Achar)?
1. Heat 2 small spoons of oil in a pan.
2. Sauté chopped gooseberries and add salt, and take from flame.
3. In the remaining oil, sauté ingredients no: 4 and sputter mustard seeds.
4. Add curry leaves and put off the flame.
5. Add ingredients no: 6 and mix well. The raw smell should go out.
6. Add gooseberry to it and sprinkle sugar.
7. Allow your pickle to completely cool off and store in airtight containers.
