Glass doors and windows add refreshment to rooms
Glass window is not a new trend. Years old houses also have glass windows. Now attractive window designing glasses are available in market, you need to choose them as per your preference and cost. If you want a simple glass without any decoration, choose pinhead glass. You can choose clear glass if you want decorations like bevelling, etching, frosting etc.
Glass is also used to make doors beautiful and attractive. Decorative works are done in glass and used for making doors or a part of them. You can make glass doors partial or full, and mostly used in the interior portions like dining area, family rooms etc. Glass door with some designs is trendy for kitchen. Glass can beautify your walls
At least in a few cases, glass walls are used for exterior and interior designs. Columns are constructed first and connected using glass to construct glass walls. When concrete wall has 8-9 inch thickness, glass walls have maximum of 1.5 inch thickness, thus saving a lot of space. For doors and walls in the exterior portions, toughened glass with enough strength should be chosen. Toughened glass is prepared by transmitting heat and cold into the normal glass of thickness 12mm, thus strengthening them. Laminated glasses have more strength than toughened glass, and it’s the next option. They will never break into layers and only be powdered, thus less dangerous causing glass. Toughened glass is melted and made into three layers to prepare this glass.

You can laminate glass layers with colours of your choice and fixed on walls – it’s trendy now. It’s also possible to print your desirable designs on the back side of the glass and then stick on to walls. You can also print photographs or designs of your choice. Digital printing has revolutionized glass designs in the recent times. Fusion embossing is yet another modern technique where glass pieces are melted and added to glass layers. You can also try sandwich lamination by placing a fabric between two glass pieces, to decorate your glass walls.
You can try glass in floor also. Provide glasses here and there, and it can change the whole look of your interior. You can make small ponds and pebble courts and cover them using glass floors so that you can walk across them. For such glass floors, toughened glass of 12mm thickness is usually selected.
Glass can give a royal look to interior
You can add glass anywhere you can; it only adds beauty of your interior. It also gives a royal look, definitely. Give a ‘glass touch’ to partitions, kitchen cabinet, bathroom, roof, staircase etc. When you choose open space plan for your interior, partitions are used for privacy. In this case, glass partitions (either partially or fully) can be easy adopted. Such glass walls can be used to separate rooms in open space designs. Partition glass can be given stainless glass, bevelling, etching, printing or any designs of your choice.

Railing glass adds extra beauty to staircases. You can also use glass in the railing of balcony of thickness 8mm. To watch stars and moon from the interior, you can fix glass in the ceiling. You can use toughened glass in the roof of rooms or courtyard. It also invites a lot of sunlight during daytime.
You can give glass doors to kitchen cabinets. It adds beauty, and also helps you to easily find things inside. Such cabinets are prepared by pressing glass on to MDF or plywood. Colourful glasses known by the names – planilaque glass and Lacquered glass are normally used for this purpose.
The day since bathroom has been partitioned to dry area and wet areas, glass partition got a space in bathroom interior. Shower cubicle is also high in demand. 12 mm toughened glass is used in bathrooms. When bathroom is partitioned to dry and wet areas, it can be kept tidy and easily maintained as well. It reduces total space and slippery areas can be easily cleaned.

A few terms to be introduced in glass designs
Etching – Glass is treated using acid in etching process. Multi-layer etching and deep etching are advanced ones, where the glass is given bended or deep cutting designs.
Bevelling – Glass is polished in slanting position. The portion which is fixed to frame is made slight thin to give a 3-D effect.
Staining – Glasses of different colours are placed together and designs are made as per your preference.
Frosting – Glass is given a misty appeal in this process.
Cluster work – Small designs are cut from glass layers and later fixed on the top of another glass.
