Gaadha – South Indian film actress with ‘Nimir’ and ‘Big Brother’ to her credit

Gaadha is an upcoming actress and model associated with Malayalam and Tamil film industry. She started her career as a model, and later got her first break to films through Priyadarshan’s Tamil remake of Maheshinte Prathikaram – Nimir, where she played one among the female leads. She marked her Malayalam debut with Mohanlal starrer ‘Big Brother’ in 2020. She played Sarjano Khalid’s girlfriend in the movie directed by ace filmmaker Siddhique.  She made an impressive debut in Tamil and Malayalam film industries through these films.

Gaadha hails from Kochi and is a model by profession. Her father works in a private firm and her brother is a businessman. She has been a model based in Kochi, when she got her first break to films. Since teens she has been dreaming about films. She was almost sure that she would be in films someday. She did graduation in fashion designing. Yet acting & movies have been her true passions. She used to watch movies belonging to different languages and enact them. She also acted in plays since childhood and loves dancing, though not formally trained.

In her debut movie, Nimir, Gaadha played the role of Vidya (reprised the role played by Lijomol Jose in the original Malayalam version). She shared screen space with M.S. Bhaskar and Karunakaran in most of her scenes. In her second movie, ‘Big Brother’ she was casted one of the three female leads aside Honey Rose and Mirna Menon. Initially another actress was finalized for the role. But for some reason it didn’t work out and when she met Siddhique the shooting of the movie had already begun. She was given the details of the character and also took a few stills, and was finalized for the role for Sarjano Khalid’s girlfriend Gemini.

Gaadha – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She was casted for Nimir after Priyadarshan had already finalized the other female characters of the movie. He came across her photo accidentally and liked it, and hence selected for the role.

2. On her first day of shooting ‘Big Brother’, she got opportunity to share screen space with Mohanlal. Her name makes us remember the very popular female character ‘Gaadha’ of Mohanlal’s iconic movie, Vandhanam directed by Priyadarshan. Interestingly she got her first break to acting through a Priyadarshan film.

3. She has appeared in TV ads and also modelling before joining films.

4. She is quite active in social media, and frequently posts photos in instagram.

5. Dancing is her passion next to acting and has won prizes for cinematic dance performances. She also performs semi-classical dance forms, though she is not formally trained.
