Divyansha Kaushik – Budding South Indian film actress of ‘Majili’ fame

Divyansha Kaushik is a model and film actress associated with Telugu and Tamil cinema. Divyansha made acting debut through Naga Chaitanya’s Telugu movie, Majili in parallel lead role in year 2019, and also appeared in Siddharth starrer Takkar the same year. The movie marked her Tamil debut. After making an impressive debut through Majili, she played her first lead role through Takkar, which starred Siddharth in a lead role.

She worked as an intern in Yash Raj films while giving Bollywood auditions

Divyansha Kaushik was born on 10th February 1997 in New Delhi. She started her career as a model in Mumbai before foraying into films in 2019, and had two releases in two different languages. Her appearance in a TV commercial helped her to bag her first film. It was her first TV ad.

Telugu sports drama, Majili marked her debut, where she shared screen space with real life couple, Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and Samantha Akkineni. She played the role of Anshu, ex-lover and love interest of Naga Chaitanya in the movie, who dumps him. She gets much screen space aside Naga Chaitanya throughout the first half of the movie, and Samantha appears only in the second half, and both the actresses never share screen space even for a single scene, except a very few flashback memories. The film received positive reviews from critics and was a box office hit.

She did a basic audition and look test before she bagged her second movie, Takkar opposite Siddharth. She played a model girl in the movie, quite fitting her real image. Before pursuing modelling in her real life career, she had obese problems. She shed 20 kgs getting her first portfolio shot. She also worked as an intern in Yash Raj films those days.

Divyansha Kaushik – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She started nourishing acting dreams ever since she watched Kareena Kapoor as Poo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. She was only 4 or 5 years then. Later she shifted her interest to become an editor of the Vogue magazine, and also a makeup artist following mother’s footsteps.

2. Her mother Anju Kaushik is an established make-up artiste in Delhi, and has worked as makeup artist of Rani Mukerji in Hichki and many others. Divyansha even had a thought to pursue a career in this field, before starting her modelling career. She also studied a makeup course in London and wanted to become a make-up artiste and a beauty editor.

3. Her hobbies include reading, dancing, shopping and travelling.

4. She is a model turned actress. She started her modelling during her school days. She also participated in school dramas, debates and never missed drama competitions since then. But she was never serious about an acting career then.

5. Her school and college education was done at Mussoorie, a hill station.

6. While she was busy with her modelling career in Mumbai, she joined Yash Raj Film studio as casting member, to know how movies are made. She gave many failed auditions in Bollywood before moving to South.

7. She is a foodie. While at Hyderabad she orders biryani and salan most. Pizza & South Indian Dosa are also her hot favourites.
