Dates Cake with Rum Caramel Sauce recipe

Ingredients for Dates Cake with Rum Caramel Sauce:

1. Dates chopped – ¾ cup

    Dry prunes – ¼ cup

    Black raisins – ¼ cup

    Boiling water – 60 milli

    Baking soda – ¾ small spoon

2. Eggs – 3

3. Dark brown sugar – 200 gm

    Butter melted – 190 gm

    Vanilla essence – 1 small spoon

4. Maida – ¾ cup

    Baking powder – 1 ¼ small spoon

    Salt – ¼ small spoon

For sauce:

5. Butter – 100 gm

    Dark brown sugar- ½ cup

    Golden syrup – 1/2 cup

    Cream – 1 cup

    Rum – ¼ cup

How to prepare Dates Cake with Rum Caramel Sauce?

1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius.

2. Mix together ingredients no: 1, soak for a while, and later make a fine paste.

3. In a bowl, beat the eggs along with ingredients no: 3.

4. Mix together ingredients no: 4 and add them slowly to the above egg mixture and mix well.

5. Add the dates mixture slowly and blend well.

6. Grease a tin and transfer the contents to it.

7. Place inside pre-heated oven and bake for 50 minutes.

8. When you prick the cake using a toothpick, the cake won’t stick to it if it’s cooked well.

9. You can transfer the cake from the mould once it has cooled.

10. To prepare the sauce, mix together ingredients no: 5 in a saucepan.

11. Boil it for 10-12 minutes till contents turn thick.

12. Allow it to cool.

13. Once it cools well, pour on the top of the cake.
