Nandha Durairaj – Tamil film actor of ‘Eeram’ fame
Nandha Durairaj is a well-known Tamil actor best known for Eeram released in 2009, where he played antagonist’s role. Marked his screen debut with parallel lead role in Mounam Pesiyadhe in 2002, he has appeared in nearly two dozen of Tamil films. His name is often credited as Nandha, and he plays both lead and supporting roles on Tamil screen. He recently produced Sun Naam Oruvar show on Sun TV and has dubbed for the lead role of Prithviraj for the Tamil version of Celluloid.
Nandha Durairaj hails from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He was born in 1977. He is the grandson of 4-term Tamil Nadu legislator and union minister, M. Kannappan. His entry to films was just co-incidental when he was noticed by film producer S. Thanu in a family function. Very soon with the help of Thanu he joined Film Institute in Chennai in 1998 to do an acting course, and joined film industry in 2002. He played the parallel lead role of Kannan in 2002 hit film, Mounam Pesiyadhe. Suriya played the main lead.
The following year he played his first solo lead role through Punnagai Poove. The film’s failure prompted him to concentrate on to supporting roles and he had a long wait for 6 years to get the first meaty role through Eeram. His role as Bala, a businessman and Sindhu Menon’s husband is his most memorable role till now. Anandhapurathu Veedu, Vellore Maavattam, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam etc are some of his supporting roles. He played male lead or parallel lead in Athithi, Vanthaan Vendraan, Katham Katham, Adhibar, Kallaattam, Puthiya Thiruppangal etc.

1. His real name is Govind Sendrampalayam Durairaj.
2. His breakthrough performance in Eeram earned him nomination at Vijay Film Awards for Best Villain.
3. To pursue a career in acting, he discontinued his graduation studies.
4. He has been a part of Tamil’s first web series, Kaushiki.
5. Painting and travelling are his hobbies.
