Ingredients for Mutton Chilli:
- Mutton – 1 kg
- Coconut oil – 2 table spoons
- Green chillies split into 2– 20
- Soya sauce – 1 table spoon
- Orange-red colour – 1 pinch
- Chilli sauce – 2 table spoons
- Curry leaves – 2 stem
- Pepper powder – 2 tsp
- Salt – as needed
How to prepare Mutton Chilli in Kerala style?
- Clean mutton and make it 4 square pieces. Using a pressure cooker, cook it well.
- Cut beef pieces to lengthy thin pieces.
- Heat coconut oil and sauté chilli pieces for a minute.
- Add mutton pieces to it along with sauces and colour.
- Make it dry and add curry leaves.
- Heat another pan (uruli) in a stove or hearth. Put the flame off and add the meat, pepper powder and salt and stir continuously.
- Note: It can be done in two other methods as well. After heating uruli, you can sauté onions and add chicken and pepper powder.
- In second method, after adding pepper and meat, you can add 2 tablespoon chilli sauce and 3 tablespoon tomato sauce to get another Kerala-Chinese combination.
