Anasuya Bharadwaj alias Anchor Anasuya – Telugu TV anchor and film actress

Anasuya Bharadwaj also known as Anchor Anasuya is a television presenter, news presenter, anchor and actress belonging to Telugu entertainment industry. A star anchor turned actress, her association with Sakshi TV as an anchor brought her instant success and fame. Initially she was a news presenter before moving to anchoring, and comedy show, Jabardasth brought her to limelight for the first time. Since 2016 she is active in film industry too, mostly playing character roles and also appeared in a few item numbers. In 2019, she bagged she received the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Telugu for portraying the memorable role of Kolli Rangamma in Rangasthalam.

She worked in corporate sector before joining television industry

Anasuya Bharadwaj hails from Hyderabad, Telangana and was born in 1985. She completed her MBA studies in 2008, and worked in corporate sector for a while as a HR Executive before moving to television. She joined Sakshi TV as a newsreader and later started anchoring shows. Though she received many offers from films, she preferred to continue in television during her initial days, when she was a star anchor. She is married to Susank Bharadwaj, a bank employee and has two kids. The family is settled in Hyderabad. She hosted many film and television events, and is also associated with the field of compering.

Comedy show, Jabardasth for ETV Telugu gave her the major break as an anchor

A well-known face on the TV circuit, Anasuya Bharadwaj started anchoring the show, Jabardasth in 2013, after which she turned one of the top anchors of the industry. The show completed 7 years in 2020. She hosted shows for ETV Telugu, Zee Telugu, Star Maa, TV9, Gemini TV etc and some of her shows in the role of a TV host or anchor include – Modern Mahalakshmi, Bindaas, A Date with Anasuya, Blockbuster, Jack Pot, One – No More Silly Games, Thadaka etc. She has also appeared as a contestant for a few shows and turned a celebrity judge for Drama Juniors for first three seasons since 2017. Prati Roju Pandage, Jabardasth and Thalla? Pellama?? are her shows in 2020, where she plays the role of an anchor.

She plays supporting roles on big screen since 2016

Soggade Chinni Nayana in 2016 marked her screen debut in a supporting role. She later appeared in Kshanam, Yevado Okadu, Yatra, Kathanam, Meeku Maathrame Cheptha, Gayatri etc. Kshanam was one of her first major works, and the negative role bagged her IIFA and SIIMA for supporting actress. Rangasthalam was a breakthrough role of her acting career in which she appeared as a hot village belle, and the supporting role bagged her both Filmfare awards and SIIMA. She made special appearance in the songs “Suya Suya Anasuya” of Winter and “Ding Dong” of F2 – Fun and Frustration.

1. She appeared in an uncredited role in 2003 movie, Naaga, where she appeared as a law college student in the song “Dhool“. She appeared in just once scene, while she was in junior college. Her big screen debut happened years later in 2016.

2. She was paid 500 rupees for her appearance as extra in 2003 movie, Naaga.

3. She was a HR Executive in corporate sector before she turned a newsreader and anchor.
