Nail care – Some safety tips for your nails

We give a lot of importance to the beauty of nails and nail polish, while we may neglect important safety tips. Here I suggest a few tips for the safety of nails.

nail safety tips

1. Keep a separate nail cutter for your personal use. It avoids fungal infection.

2. Never cut nails using knife or blade.

3. Cut nails soon after bath. Nails are soft at that time.

4. When you use ‘Deep U’ cut for your nails, dirt gets easily deposited through the edges. Flat square shape is the best.

5. Never remove dirt inside the nails using toothpick and iron strings.

6. Those who have agnail should always keep their nails dry. If nails get soaked, rub it well using a small towel.

7. If you use nail polish frequently, use only good quality nail polish remover. Acetone and formaldehyde are absent in good removers. After that keep nails as such for a week without using nail polish, so that they can ‘breathe’.

8. If you notice colour changes in nails frequently, consult a dermatologist.

9. Mix some mild shampoo and salt in warm water. Dip your feet and hands inside it. After sometime, clean your nails using an old toothbrush. Then wash your nails in cold water and completely remove moisture from nails using towel.

10. Take calcium rich food for healthy nails.
