While Using Spectacles
How often do you change your spectacles? Are you using the same pair of spectacles for a long period? If so it’s a wrong procedure unhealthy to eyes. You should check your eyes at least once in every six months and if needed, change your spectacles. Through this column let me provide a few more tips for you to note while using spectacles.
1. It depends on one’s job profile too, while instructing to wear spectacles for cataracts. If you sit too long before computer, doctors may suggest progressive glass for your eye disorders. When you use it first you may feel a little discomfort. No need to worry. In most cases such problems will fade away within two weeks.
2. If you feel discomfort or problems in eye sight due to exposure of radiations, sun glasses with ultra violet coating is the best solution. Some persons’ eyes are too sensitive to bright light. This condition is known as photo phobia. If so doctors suggest them to wear day and night glasses.
3. If you wear spectacles regularly more chances are there to develop scars on nose. To avoid those black marks, spectacles without nose pad is the best. Using fiber glass instead of normal lens glass is another solution to avoid those marks on your nose.
4. It’s a myth that spectacle is for old age only. It’s not true always. Many kids are born with eye defects. Parents should be able to identify such defects to avoid problems later. 5. If a kid reads books placing them so close to eyes, if he watches television sitting very near or if he feels head ache, there are chances for eye problems. If they find discomforts or eye watering while reading, parents should never hesitate to do an eye checkup for their kid. Such defects can be easily corrected if noticed during early ages. In most cases, such defects can be covered by using suitable spectacles.
