Tanvi Ram – Budding actress of Malayalam cinema of ‘Ambili’ fame

Tanvi Ram is a budding actress of Malayalam cinema, who marked her big screen debut with ‘Ambili’ in 2019. She played the female lead opposite Soubin Shahir in the heart-warming movie, which opened to positive reviews. The movie was helmed by director Johnpaul George of Guppi fame. She is a Bangalore-based banker turned actress. She has bagged her next lead role in 2018, initially named as 2403 ft, opposite Tovino Tomas, and directed by Jude Anthony Joseph of ‘Om Shanti Osana’ fame.

Tanvi Ram – A model and banker turned actress

Tanvi Ram has been interested in modelling since young, and has participated in beauty pageants. She has been a Miss. Kerala 2012 finalist. After studies she joined banking field, and worked in Bangalore for 7 years before she got her first break to big screen through Ambili in 2019. Once she sent her photographs for an audition for an ad. Though she couldn’t get through it, her photographs were seen by director Johnpaul George. Ambili’s associate director Sreejith was a part of that ad-campaign. It was exactly at the same time when George was in search for a new heroine for his upcoming film. When Sreejith approached her asking if she was interested in films, it was something like an unexpected dream to visualize and she spontaneously gave ‘yes’ nod.

She attended the audition at Ernakulam and got finalized for the lead role. She participated in a two-week workshop at Kattapana before she took up the role. She played a nurse who works in Delhi, in the film. Her debut film also marks the screen debut of Naveen Nazim, Nazriya Nazim’s younger brother. They played siblings in the movie.

Till 2023, Tanvi Ram has done a dozen of films. She was a part of the ensemble cast of Malayalam’s all-time biggest blockbuster, 2018. She played female lead of Tovino Thomas in the film. Thallumala, Kappela, Enkilum Chandrike, Kumari, Aarattu, Mukundan Unni Associates etc are her noted works. In 2022, she marked her Telugu debut with Ante Sundaraniki.
