Shelly Kishore – Popular Malayalam TV actress of ‘Kumkumapoovu’ and ‘Streepadam’ fame
Shelly Kishore is a popular TV actress associated with Malayalam soaps and sitcoms. She is best recognized as Shalini of ‘Kumkumapoovu’, the protagonist. Her role in Streepadam was also well received. She along with Vishnu Prasad formed an amazing screen Jodi through the show. This role has helped her to bag Asiavision Television Awards twice. For the telefilm ‘Thaniye’, she received Malayalam state television award for best actress in 2006. She also plays supporting roles on big screen and some of her noted roles are Eeda, Sakhavu, Chattakaari, Akam, The Waiting Room etc. Her supporting role Vadivu in 2013 Tamil movie Thanga Meenkal was nominated at SIIMA. In 2021, her parallel lead role – Usha in Malayalam movie, Minnal Murali, gave her the biggest break she has been waiting for.
Shelly Kishore hails from Chirayinkezhu, Thiruvananthapuram, and was born in 1983. Her father is an engineer. Her schooling was done at Muscat and Dubai. She is married to Kishore C. Menon, who works as a production controller in film industry, and has one son. She took masters in E-Governance. She got into acting field only after marriage, and she got her first acting offer in television through her husband’s friend. She played a double role in her first TV show, ‘Chitrashalabham’. Slowly she started accepting brief roles for movies as well. As an actress she got her first major break through Kumkumapoovu’, and biggest career-role through Minnal Murali.
