Pavail Gulati is a Bollywood actor known for his appearance in movies like Thappad (2020), Dobaaraa (2022), and Deva (2025). His appearance in web series, Yudh (2014), Haq Se (2018), Avrodh: The Siege Within (2020), Faadu (2022) etc. He also made appearance in movies like Ittefaq (2017), Kalank (2019), I Love You (2023), Goodbye (2022), Ghost Stories (2020), and short films – Queen of Hearts (2016), The Other Way (2018), Flow (2022) etc.
Pavail started his career as an assistant casting director in My Name Is Khan
Pavail Gulati was born 14 September 1987 in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. His father Kanwar Deepak Gulati was a documentary filmmaker while his mom Anju Gulati was associated with radio production. Initially both his parents worked with government service and later left their respective jobs to pursue their dreams. He has an elder brother named Kanwar Suhail Gulati.
He spent his childhood in different parts of Delhi, where he completed his education. Pavail attended Bluebells School International. While at school, he actively participated in summer workshops at NSD and honed his dance skills under the tutelage of Shiamak Davar.
At the age of 18, Gulati moved to Mumbai in 2006, dreaming to become an actor. He enrolled at Whistling Woods International, being among its first batch of acting students. He also trained under veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah. Later he started his career as an assistant casting director in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan.
He made his acting debut with the film Hide & Seek in 2010
Pavail Gulati marked his acting debut with Hide & Seek in 2010. He was first noticed for playing Amitabh Bachchan’s son in Yudh (2014), which marked his TV debut. He mostly played supporting roles in the first phase of his acting role. Some of his noted film roles during this period include Kalank and Ittefaq. He also did a few short films and web series during this period.
Thappad in 2020 was a turning point of Gulati’s career
He played Vikram Sabharwal, Taapsee Pannu’s husband in Thappad. The movie was widely discussed for the sensitive subject, domestic violence. After the success of this film, more meaty roles came pouring in. He shared screen space with Taapsee Pannu once again in Anurag Kashyap’s Dobaaraa, where he played her love interest. The movie received positive reviews, but was a failure at box office.
His appearance in Goodbye alongside Rashmika Mandanna, I Love You alongside Rakul Preet Singh and web series Faadu opposite Saiyami Kher also got noticed. In 2025, he played ACP Rohan Dsilva in Rosshan Andrrews’ Bollywood directorial debut, Deva. He shared screen space with Shahid Kapoor and Pravesh Rana.

1. During his initial struggle days, he has unsuccessfully given many auditions. After every rejection, it was really hard for the actor who felt dejected. But he believes, everything comes late to him.
2. He won Digital Dash Award for his performance in the short film, The Other Way (2018).
3. In 2020, Pavail was ranked 19th in The Times Most Desirable Men list.
4. During his school years, Pavail was a state-level Taekwondo champion. He also loves basket ball since childhood.
5. Pavail is known for his love for animals. He often shares pictures with his pets on social media.
6. He has appeared in music videos, including the popular song “Naa Dooja Koi” by Arko Pravo Mukherjee in 2021. “Hai Tu” from I Love You (2023), “Sawaan” (2019) and “Jee Bhar Ke Tum” (2023) are a few more.
