Bread Fruit Coconut Milk Curry or Kadachakka Paal Curry

Ingredients for Kadachakka Paal Curry (Bread Fruit Coconut Milk Curry):

1. Jackfruit – One

2. Chilli powder – One big spoon

    Coriander powder – One big spoon

    Turmeric powder – Half a small spoon

    Black pepper – Half small spoon

    Fennel – Two small spoons

    Star anise – Two

    Cinnamon – One small piece

3. Coconut – One, scrapped

4. Coconut oil – Half cup

5. Onion – Two, sliced lengthwise

    Green chilli – Six

    Ginger – One piece, sliced lengthwise

6. Salt – As needed

7. Tomato – One, sliced lengthwise

8. Coconut oil – Two big spoons

9. Mustard seeds – Half a small spoon

10. Shallots – 2, chopped

     Curry leaves – 2 sprigs

How to prepare Kadachakka Paal Curry (Bread Fruit Coconut Milk Curry)?

1. Wash the breadfruit after removing the skin and core, then drain and keep aside.

2. Grind the second set of ingredients and keep aside.

3. Grate the coconut and extract the first and second coconut milk, then keep them aside separately.

4. Heat coconut oil and sauté the fifth set of ingredients.

5. When it turns golden brown, add the ground masala mixed with a little water, and sauté on a low flame.

6. Add the breadfruit and salt as needed, mix well, then add the second coconut milk and cook.

7. When the breadfruit is cooked and the coconut milk thickens, add the first coconut milk and stir.

8. Before it starts to boil, add the tomatoes and stir well. Turn off the flame.

9. Splutter mustard seeds in coconut oil, sauté red onions and curry leaves, and pour this seasoning over the curry.
