Indhuja Ravichandran – Tamil film actress with ‘Meyaadha Maan’, ‘Bigil’ and ‘Magamuni’ to her credit

Indhuja Ravichandran, better known as Indhuja is a Tamil film actress, who appears in lead and supporting roles. She came to limelight after the release of her debut movie, Meyaadha Maan in 2017. In 2019, she appeared in some of the major hits portraying lead or parallel lead roles, which met with positive critics’ reviews and box office success. Those movies are Vijay starrer Bigil, where she played footballer Vembu, and also Magamuni, where she played wife of Arya, the female of the movie. Meyaadha Maan, Mercury, 60 Vayadu Maaniram, Super Duper, Boomerang and 60 Vayadu Maaniram are some other releases till now.

Indhuja Ravichandran was born in Vellore, Tamil Nadu in 1994. She started her modelling career while pursuing her Software Engineering degree at Vellore Institute of Technology. She actively participated in cultural events of college, apart from assignments outside, and she became a part of several modelling and short film assignments. She also started attending auditions during her IT academic years, and was first spotted by director Karthik Subburaj in an audition. She was offered a supporting role in Meyaadha Maan. She was offered the pivot role of Sudarvizhi, Vaibhav’s sister in the movie, and her role got noticed.

After the commercial success of Meyaadha Maan, she received more offers from Tamil cinema. In 2018 she became a part of the silent movie, Mercury, directed by Prabhudeva. She bagged her first lead role through 60 Vayadu Maaniram in 2018. After that she mostly played lead roles on screen. Meyaadha Maan and Magamuni are her memorable performances till now. Khaki is her upcoming release, where she plays female lead opposite Vijay Antony.

Indhuja – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. She completed Software Engineering Master’s degree.

2. She shared screen space with Prasanna in his debut web series, Thiravam in 2019. She played the female lead. The series was based on the life of Ramar Pillai, who claimed to find the herbal fuel in the 1990s.

3. During her initial model days, she did modelling for her brother Gautham, who has passion in photography and direction. In fact she came to Chennai for the first time to support her brother in entertainment sector, especially cinema.

4. She marked her acting debut with the short film, Amigo in 2014. The short film was directed by Ram, her brother’s friend. Her second short film, “Antham” was released in 2015.

5. She received Vikatan Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2018 for her debut movie, Meyaadha Maan.
