Gadam Kishan is a noted film actor associated with Tamil cinema, best known for playing supporting and comic roles. He is a musician turned actor. Deiva Thirumagal (2011) and Thirumanam Enum Nikkah (2014) are among his popular appearances. He played Jai’s brother in Thirumanam Enum Nikkah. Gadam Kishan was seen in the “Aga Naga” song of the box office hit – Ko.

As a musician, he played ghatam in fusion concerts during his initial days
Gadam Kishan was born into a family of musicians. He has received training under Kalaimamani TH Subashchandran and TH Vikku Vinayakaram.
Gadam Kishan started his professional career as a percussionist and musician, who plays the traditional musical percussion instrument, ghatam in fusion concerts. That’s how ‘Gadam’ tag got added to his name. He is associated with this profession since early 2000s.
Gadam Kishan started his acting career through television
Kana Kaanum Kaalangal in 2010 marked his small screen debut in a brief appearance. Years later he appeared in Tamil TV series, Sathya (2019). Following his television debut, Kishan made his big screen debut with Bale Pandiya (2010) which received mixed reviews from critics. He played Vishnu Vishal’s friend in his debut flick. He was next seen in a song sequence in the film, Ko, which got noticed. It also helped Gadam Kishan to get a few more roles from Tamil cinema.
Deiva Thirumagal gave him the big break he was waiting for
He played the role of a mentally challenged person in 2011 drama film, Deiva Thirumagal which was a box office hit. Chiyaan Vikram and Sara Arjun appeared in pivot roles in the film. Deeply impressed by his performance, Balu Mahendra wanted to make a film with Gadam as a lead actor, playing a mentally challenged person who got stuck with the mind of a 10-year-old. But following the ace filmmaker’s death, the film did not materialize and Gadam Kishan’s career failed to take off. Thirumanam Enum Nikkah is yet another popular role which decorates his filmography.
Gadam Kishan is excellent in portraying comic roles, and each comic role he selects, he gives distinct identities to his appearance including his hair style. He gets an image makeover in every film he does. His hairstyle was like a mop top in his debut flick, Bale Pandiya, while he appeared in an entirely different look as Muttakannan in Deiva Thirumagal. He grew his hair long and also shaved the front part of his head to play Jai’s brother in Thirumanam Enum Nikkah.
After a promising start, Gadam Kishan’s career slowly lost momentum
In the first half of 2010s, he was seen playing character roles in Mudhal Idam (2011), Manithan (2016), Ennodu Vilayadu (2017), and Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (2018). But after a point of time, his career faced a decline and audience slowly forgot him. His sidekick roles of a brother or friend became repetitive and he got type casted in similar kind of roles. His roles always had a comic touch, which made him popular.
He signed a horror project, Pagai, where he was to play a negative role. But for some unknown reasons, the project was shelved. Vazhapazham, Evvalavo Paathuttom, Kaatrulla Pothe Thootrikkol, Velayadava and Rukkumani Vandi Varuthu are a few more projects he signed, but never materialized. Though he signed half a dozen movies back-to-back, and had a promising career ahead, somewhere luck didn’t favour him.
He was signed in lead role for a project
He was signed in lead role for Kaatrulla Pothe Thootrikkol. But the movie is yet to take off. Gadam Kadam was roped in for the Tamil remake of Hindi satire, Jolly LLB, where he plays the role of a lawyer and friend of the hero. The movie was titled Manithan (2016). In 2025, he is credited in Vanangaan as a public prosecutor.
