Fruit custard is a popular, creamy dessert loved across the continents. It is made by combining a smooth, thickened custard (usually milk-based) with some fresh or canned fruits. It’s a simple, refreshing sweet dish that can be added as a quick after-meal treat, party dessert, or summer cooler. Two different Fruit Custard Recipes are added here.
Ingredients of Banana-Apple Fruit Custard:
- Milk – 1 litre
- Sugar – 3 cups
- Custard powder – 2 big spoons
- Banana, cherry, mango, and apple – to decorate (all needed to be made into pieces)
How to prepare the Fruit Custard (Recipe 1)?
- Boil milk and add 3 cups of sugar.
- When the water content is almost reduced, add custard powder, mixed with a spoonful of milk. Stir continuously.
- When the water content is almost absorbed, turn the flame off and allow it to cool.
- Refrigerate it, and serve it, adding chilled fruit pieces.
Fruit Custard with Apple and Pineapple Combo

Ingredients for Apple-Pineapple Fruit Custard :
- Apple chopped into small pieces – ½ cup
Pineapple chopped into small pieces – ½ cup, cooked, adding 2 small spoons of sugar
Black grapes – ¼ cup
Orange, after removing skin and seeds – ¼ cup
Pomegranate – ¼ cup
Njalipoovan banana (small-sized) – ½ cup - Honey – As needed
- Milk – 250 milli
Custard powder – 3 big spoons - Milk – ½ litre
Sugar – ¼ cup - Milk – 2 big spoons
Yellow yolk – 1 - Condensed milk – 6-8 big spoons
How to prepare Fruit Custard (Recipe 2)?
- Mix ingredients no: 1 together, add a little honey, and place in the refrigerator for a while.
- Mix custard powder in 250 milli milk.
- Add sugar to half a litre of milk and place it on the flame.
- When it boils, reduce the flame and add the custard mixture.
- Keep stirring to avoid the formation of lumps.
- Beat ingredients no: 5 together.
- Take the milk-custard mixture from the flame, add the egg mixture, mix well, and place it back on the flame.
- Keep stirring until the contents turn thick, and then turn off the flame.
- Add condensed milk and allow the contents to cool.
- Place it in the refrigerator for a while.
- Put fruits in serving bowls, and pour a little custard on top.
- Serve chilled.
