Chakka Ada for Vishu (Jackfruit Steamed Cake)
Ingredients for Chakka Ada for Vishu (Jackfruit Steamed Cake):
1. Ripe jackfruit cooked with jaggery and ghee – 1 cup
Rice flour – 1 cup
Salt – A pinch
Ghee – 1 large spoon
2. Bay leaves (Vayana Ila) – As needed for steaming
How to prepare Chakka Ada for Vishu (Jackfruit Steamed Cake)?
1. Mix all the ingredients together into a smooth dough and shape into small balls.
2. Place each ball on a Vayana leaf, gently flatten it, and fold the leaf over it.
3. Steam them on the steamer plate (Appachembu) for 10 minutes.
4. Serve hot.
