Babu Ganesh is an actor and director associated with Tamil film industry. A multi-talented personality, he dons different kinds of roles. He scripts his own movies, pens lyrics, works as an editor, do playback singing and also does principal photography. He also composes film songs, does special effects, production, choreographs and also works as a stunt choreographer in the film industry – making him a multi-personality.

He is associated with film industry since mid-1980s and has directed 6 movies till now. As an actor, he has worked in more than a dozen of films with other directors, apart from acting in his own films.

Kadal Pura in 1993 was Babu Ganesh’s directorial debut

Babu Ganesh joined film industry in the mid-1980s, where he worked as an assistant director for years. He has done uncredited roles on screen also. He appeared in the song, “Vetti Veru Vaasam” for the 1985 film, Mudhal Mariyadhai.

He made his directorial debut with Kadal Pura in 1993. He also played a supporting role in the film. He directed his second film Nagalingam in year 2000, where he played the titular lead role of Nagalingam. He composed music, wrote script, and did editing and choreography. After that, he directed 5 more movies – Plus Koottani, Desiya Paravai, Nadigai and Kaattu Pura.

Though he tried with different fields in Tamil film industry, he highly remained unsuccessful. He is not active in industry post-pandemic.

Babu Ganesh – Some interesting and less-known facts

1. In 2018, Babu Ganesh announced a project titled 370, aiming Guiness Records. handling 14 crafts namely story, screenplay, dialogue, direction, editing, DOP, songs, music, acting and playback singing, the movie was to be shot in 48 hours. Even the female lead was casted. But the project didn’t take off.

2. He returned to film industry in 2018 after a hiatus of 6 years through the movie, Kaattu Pura. He appeared in this film and also worked as a director.
