Aswathy Manoharan is budding actress associated with Malayalam cinema. She is best known for playing the character Suramya in 2025 film, Dheeran. She also played the character Athira in Web series, Kerala Crime Files. She is also a successful model and theatre artist. She is skilled in kickboxing and parkour too.
Aswathy Manoharan – An introvert youngest child of her family
Aswathy was born in Thirunakkara of Kottayam district. She is the youngest child to her parents, Shivan Manoharan and Anitha. As she was introvert and shy during her childhood days, her parents admitted her in dance classes. A less-confident child those days, stage performances over the years made her bold and confident. She moved to Bangalore to do MFA in Bharatnatyam. Moving to a totally new place of new language helped her a lot. Joining a school at Attakulangara to get a diploma in contemporary dance also helped Aswathy Manoharan in improvising her personal skills and communication skills.
Initially Aswathy attended auditions to learn how to face rejections
One day she went to attend an audition of a play to learn how to overcome rejections. But to her surprise, she got selected. Though she was not able to do that play, her interest in drama started growing. In 2018, she got her first film appearance through the campus film, Poomaram, starring Kalidas. It was an uncredited brief appearance of a dancer. As she was a trained dancer, the role was easy for her.
As she realised dance and acting are interlinked, she started appearing in plays and attended workshops too. She gave several auditions too. She got movies like Dheeran through auditions.
Her appearance in reels of Lovely made her famous
Later Aswathy acted in Malayalam movies – OP 160/18 Kakshi Ammini Pillai, Poomaram, Dheeran, Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, Anweshippin Kandethum, Gu, Lovely etc. She acted in Nivin Pauly starrer web series, Pharma. Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil is her first credited role, for which she was casted as female lead.
Some reels of the movie, Lovely went viral, and people started recognizing her through those reels. After she acted in Dheeran as a village girl with progressive thoughts, she is more recognized for this role.
Luttappi Yogi – Her Instagram handle
Since early childhood she was an admirer of the character Luttappi in Mayavi series. Those days she was not aware that Luttappi was an evil character, as she personally believed, everyone has both good and evil. She also felt sympathy for Luttappi who always invited troubles because of his foolishness. She also loved his childish character and wanting it to keep alive, Aswathy Manoharan used the handle, Luttappi Yogi. She believes, she can find people of same vibes irrespective of age, who love the craziness of Luttappi.
She is learning Yoga right from childhood. Combining the terms – Luttappi and Yogi, she created her Instagram handle. Aswathy is also a Yoga instructor since around 2015 and runs a yoga studio called “Luttappi Yoga” in Kochi. This talented girl is trained in Bharatanatyam, contemporary dance, ballet, Kalaripayattu, parkour, and a few more. She is a successful model too, and has appeared in the ads of SBI Mutual Fund, Saffola Oats, Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, Kalyan Silks and more. Now she is familiar to Malayali audience.
