Simi Chahal is a promising young actress associated with Punjabi cinema. After starting her career as a model and also featuring in a few Punjabi musical videos, she marked her impressive screen debut with Bambukat in 2016, which helped her to bag Filmfare Award (Punjabi) for Best Debut Actress in 2017. Her lead roles in Rabb Da Radio and Chal Mera Putt are also memorable, and her stunning performance in Rabb Da Radio earned her Best Actress Critics Award at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2018. She has appeared in around 10 Punjabi films till now, and Bhajjo Veero Ve, Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua, Manje Bistre 2, Sarvann, Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua etc are her other releases.
Simi Chahal hails from Punjab. She was born on 9th May, 1992. She is very close to her mother and treats her mom as girlfriend, and also presents her with gifts. Her mother has been her strong pillar of support throughout her journey in the entertainment field. She was a tomboy during her childhood days. However she left that image and started her modelling career while at college.
She has been regular in instagram during her modelling days, and a 10-second video of hers gave her the first break to films. Filmmaker Pankaj Batra watched that video, and offered her the first film role – Pakko in Bambukat. She was doing her double graduation at Canada when she was offered the role. Since then there was no turning back, and now she is one of the most sought lead actresses of Pollywood.

2. Though she is now known as a beautiful diva of Punjabi cinema, during her childhood days she was a tomboy. In fact she loved playing cricket and gulli-danga while girls of her age played with dolls.
3. She never imagined herself to an actress in future. She thought she would become a baker.
4. She is active in social media, and has a lot of fans and followers. She frequently posts her images and videos in instagram and other social media sites.
5. She along with her co-star Tarsem Jassar shared Critics Award for Best Actor at PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2018. They earned the award for the movie, Rabb Da Radio.
