Perizaad Zorabian – Bollywood actress of ‘Jogger’s Park’ & ‘Bollywood Calling’ fame

Perizaad Zorabian is a former model and actress of Bollywood, best known for her memorable performances in ‘Jogger’s Park’ & ‘Bollywood Calling’. She is also known as a model, theatre artist and a trained ballet dancer also. She mostly appears in off-beat Bollywood films and her appearance in Morning Raga was also noticed.

Perizaad was born on October 23, 1973 into a Parsi family in Mumbai. She grew up in Mumbai. She started modelling those days, and also appeared in TV ads. She was noticed for her distinct and natural looks. Later she got educated from New York. She completed MBA from Baruch College, New York and later did acting course from Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Once she completed her studies, she moved to India, where she assisted her father in his poultry farm.

Her first screen appearance was for the television ad of Clearsil face wash

Started modelling in the second half of 1990s, she was first seen in the Clearsil face wash ad. She did this ad before moving to New York for higher studies. Then she appeared in the popular music video, Nahi Rakhta Dil Mein Kuch of Lucky Ali’s Sifar (1998). She appeared in Asha Bhosle’s “Habba Habba Hui” featured in Jogger’s Park, in which she played lead role. She was also seen in Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye, television serial with the role Maya, and Doordarshan series, Captain Vyom in 1998, playing the role of Shakti. In 2002 she played the supporting role of Aparna in the first season of popular horror series, Ssshhhh…Koi Hai.

Her film debut was with Nagesh Kukunoor’s Bollywood Calling

She played the lead role in Indian English-language comedy drama film, Bollywood Calling in 2001. Casted opposite Pat Cusick, she also shared screen space with veterans, Navin Nischol and Om Puri. The movie which brought her to limelight was ‘Jogger’s Park’, in which Perizaad played the role of a young lady Jenny, who was in relationship with a retired the judge, the role played by veteran actor, Victor Banerjee. Though they had a huge age gap, their screen chemistry was well noticed. The song, “Ishq Hota Nahin Sabke Liye” sung by Adnan Sami was immensely popular those days and the movie fared average at box office.

Perizaad Zorabian did minor roles in Mumbai Matinee, Dhoom, Satya Bol etc. She played the role of Indira Gandhi in a Chinese film, Bandung Sonata. She played female lead in 2005 action film Ek Ajnabee, where she shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan and Arjun Rampal. She was also a part of ensemble cast of Salaam-e-Ishq in 2007. Same year she acted in Just Married. After that she took a break from acting and made brief appearances in a few films which went unnoticed. In 2018 she appeared as a guest in the first episode of the chat show, Supermoms With Manasi.

She fully switched to family life after marriage

She married Boman Rustom Irani, a prominent real estate developer in December 2006. The couple tied knot in a traditional Parsi ceremony at the Colaba Agiary, followed by a grand reception at Taj Lands End. The couple are blessed with two kids. Perizaad Zorabian is often seen attending public functions. However she completely quit her acting career.
