Thalliyas

Ingredients for Thalliyas:

1. Semolina (Rava) – 1.25 cups

    Rice flour with grains (not finely powdered) – ¼ cup

2. Jaggery – 1 cup

3. Coconut scrapped fine – 1 cup

4.Ghee – A little

5. Cardamom powder – ½ small spoon

How to prepare Thalliyas?

1. Mix semolina and rice flour, and dry roast it in a pan.

2. When it turns slight reddish, put off the flame.

3. Melt jaggery and strain it.

4. Then place it in flame, along with scrapped coconut.

5. Add a little ghee too.

6. When this solution turns tender like thread, add roasted semolina-rice flour mixture to it.

7. Finally add cardamom powder and put the flame off.

8. Grease a tray with ghee and transfer the contents to it.

9. Spread it and allow to cool.

10. Cut into desired shapes and serve.
