Sapodilla – Custard Pudding

Ingredients for Sapodilla -Custard Pudding (Chikku-Custard Pudding):

1. Sugar – ¼ cup

2. Sapodilla – 4

    Cream – ½ cup

3. Curd – 1 cup

    Cream – ½ cup

    Condensed milk – ¾ cup

4. Custard powder – 1 big spoon

    Vanilla essence – 4 drops

How to prepare Sapodilla -Custard Pudding (Chikku-Custard Pudding)?

1. Add 2 small spoons of water to ¼ cup sugar and melt it to get caramelized form.

2. Transfer the contents to a vessel or a bowl of your choice.

3. Gently rotate it so that the vessel gets a thin uniform coat of caramelized sugar.

4. Remove skin and seeds of sapodilla and blend it well along with ½ cup cream.

5. Beat together ingredients no: 3 in another bowl.

6. Add sapodilla mixture to it and mix the contents well.

7. Add custard powder and vanilla essence to sapodilla mixture.

8. Pour it to the vessel containing caramelized sugar.

9. Close the lid and steam cook it for 25 minutes.

10. When it cools, refrigerate the pudding for ½ hour.

11. Run a knife through the edges of the bowl and turn the pudding upside down on a serving plate.

12. Cut into pieces and serve.
