Paripp Katta
Ingredients for Paripp Katta:
1. Toor dal – 1 cup
Tomato – 2, chopped
Onion – 1, chopped fine
Cumin seeds fried – ½ small spoon
Fenugreek seeds fried – ½ small spoon
2. Tamarind – Gooseberry sized
Salt – For taste
3. Chilli powder – 1 big spoon
Coriander powder – ½ big spoon
Turmeric powder – ½ small spoon
4. Oil – As required
5. Mustard – ½ small spoon
Cumin seeds – ¼ small spoon
Garlic – 6 cloves, chopped
Red chillies – 3, cut into pieces
6. Coriander leaves chopped – To decorate
How to prepare Paripp Katta?
1. Cook ingredients no: 1 in a pressure cooker.
2. When pressure drops to zero, open the lid and smash dal and tomatoes slightly.
3. Add tamarind juice, salt and powders (listed as 3) and stir it well.
4. Close the lid and boil the curry.
5. Heat oil in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 5 in it.
6. Add it to curry and decorate with chopped coriander leaves.
