Papaya Gravy (Pappaya Chaaru)

Ingredients for Papaya Gravy (Pappaya Chaaru):

1. Green papaya – 1, medium sized, cut into small pieces

    Green chillies – 5, split into 2

    Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

    Salt – For taste

2. Coconut – ½, scrapped

    Shallots – 3

    Cumin – A pinch

3. Thick curd – 1 big spoon

4. Coconut oil – 1 big spoon

5. Mustard – ½ small spoon

6. Shallots – 3, sliced

    Curry leaves – A stem

How to prepare Papaya Gravy (Pappaya Chaaru)?

1. Mix ingredients no: 1 together.

2. Add sufficient water and cook in a pressure cooker.

3. Make a fine paste of ingredients no: 2.

4. Transfer cooked papaya to an earthen pot and smash well.

5. Place in flame, and when it starts to boil, add coconut paste.

6. Before it starts to boil, add thick curd and put off the flame.

7. Check salt also, and add if needed extra.

8. Heat oil and sputter mustard seeds.

9. Fry shallots and curry leaves and add to your papaya curry.
