Koottucurry

Ingredients for Koottucurry:

1. Bengal gram (Kadala paripp) – ½ cup

    Well ripen green banana – 1, cut into pieces

    Elephant yam – 25 gms, cut into pieces

    Cucumber – 100 gm, cut into pieces

2. Coconut – 1, scrapped

3. Cumin seeds – ½ small spoon

4. Pepper powder – 1 small spoon

    Curry leaves – 1 stalk

5. Coconut oil – As required

6. Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Red chillies – 2, broken

    Curry leaves – 1 stalk

How to prepare Koottucurry?

1. Cook ingredients no: 1 in a pressure cooker adding sufficient water.

2. Allow the pressure to drop to zero.

3. Add half amount of scrapped coconut and cumin seeds to it, and ingredients no: 4.

4. Mix the contents well and boil well.

5. Heat coconut oil in a pan and sauté ingredients no: 6.

6. Add remaining coconut to it, fry till it turns red and add it to Koottucurry.

7. Mix well and take the curry from flame.
