Fish Sambar

Ingredients for Fish Sambar:

1. Fish – 1 kg

2. Coconut oil – As needed

3. Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Fenugreek – 1 small spoon

4. Curry leaves – As needed

    Pigeon pea (sambar dal) – 2 big spoons

5. Onions – 1

    Tomato – 2

6. Chilli powder – As per needed

    Sambar powder – 2 big spoons

    Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

7. Tamarind squeezed in water – As per taste

How to prepare Fish Sambar?

1. Clean fish and cut into pieces.

2. Make a fine paste of tomatoes and onion.

3. Heat coconut oil in a pot and sputter mustard and fenugreek.

4. Add curry leaves and pigeon peas, followed by tomato-onion paste.

5. Keep sauting till raw smell goes out.

6. Add ingredients no: 6, followed by tamarind juice.

7. When it boils, add fish pieces.

8. When gravy thickens and fish pieces are cooked well, put off the flame.
