Kaara Boondi

Ingredients for Kaara Boondi:

1. Gram flour – 2 cups

    Water – ¾ cup, approximately

2. Baking soda -1/4 small spoon

3. Oil – For frying

4. Curry leaves – ½ cup

    Cashews – ½ cup

5. Salt – ½ small spoon

    Chilli powder – ½ small spoon

    Asafoetida powder – ½ small spoon

How to prepare Kaara Boondi?

1. Add water to gram flour and mix well without forming lumps.

2. Also add baking soda and mix well to prepare the batter.

3. Heat oil in a pan and allow to boil.

4. Pour this batter to boiling oil using a boondi spatula (or spatula with holes).

5. Fry well and place in a tissue paper to drain off excess oil.

6. In the remaining oil, fry curry leaves and cashews.

7. Add fried curry leaves and cashews to boondi and mix well.

8. Sprinkle ingredients no: 5 on its top and mix well.

9. Once boondi gets cooled, transfer the contents to jars and store.
