45+ Bollywood artists received Filmfare Awards Five Times or More

 
Filmfare award is the most prestigious award given to Bollywood artists and seen as a glamour quotient to leading actors who receive the awards. It’s regarded as lucky and prestigious to receive the black lady for whatever category it may be. Though Filmfare awards are given to different regional language films, it was started with Hindi cinema and still remains so special. So, what if one artist gets opportunity to earn ‘the black lady’ five times or more, irrespective of category? Through this column I would like to list popular artists of Bollywood who got this lucky opportunity. I have listed 48 Bollywood celebrities in this column, and hope to score half century in this list soon. In braces of the subtitles, the total number of Filmfare awards received is shown.

Gulzar – A living legend with 21 awards in different categories combined (20) 

21 awards at Filmfare is not an easy task to break. Gulzar is one of the finest writers of Bollywood, who showed his versatility in film direction and penning lyrics also. He won the most Filmfare Awards for Best Lyricist (12 from 36 nominations) which itself is a record. 4 Filmfare Awards for Best Dialogue, One award each in the categories – Critics Award for Best Movie (Aandhi), Best Documentary, Best Story (Maachis) and best director (Mausam). He was honoured with Life Time Achievement award in 2002. Thus Gulzar has received 20 awards in different categories. As a lyricist, some of his finest works include – Aandhi, Mausam, Gharaonda, Kinara, Golmaal, Ijazzat, Lekin, Rudali, Maachis, Dil Se, Fiza, Omkara and Saathiya. He is also a recipient of multiple national awards,  Padma Bhushan, Academy award for Jai Ho and the most prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his immense contributions to Hindi cinema.  
 

Amitabh Bachchan – Holds the records of maximum Filmfare awards in actor categories combined (15) 

Big B of Bollywood, he is the star of the millennium. The most celebrated star of 1970s and 1980s, he won Filmfare award for best actor 5 times. Till now he has won 15 Filmfare awards at various categories and 40 nominations in total, which itself is a record.He also holds the record of maximum nominations in best actor category – 31. After Dilip Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan, he has won maximum number of Filmfare awards in best actor category, which itself is equivalent to the awards earned by Nutan and her niece Kajol in Female actor category. Amitabh Bachchan has delivered huge blockbuster hits such as Sholay, Zanjeer, Deewar, Don, Amar Akbar Antony and Desh Premi. In his second innings too, he has delivered some of his finest performances winning many accolades including National award for best actor thrice since 2005. Big B also singly holds the current record of most number of National awards in the best actor category.

A. R. Rahman – Holds the record of maximum awards in best music director category (15)

 
He received 15 nominations in best music direction category, and he managed to convert 10 of them to awards. Except the year 2009, he received single nomination in the category for each year. Yet he received the award for most of them. He won the award consecutively for four years since 2007 which itself is a record. Thus he leveled the record created by Laxmikant-Pyarelal during the period, 1978-1981. He also leveled S-J’s record of maximum awards in this category. He was not nominated in 2011, and converted his single nomination to award in 2012 through Rockstar, breaking S-J’s 30-year old record. He is also a recipient of R. D. Burman Award apart from four in Best Background Score. Thus he is a recipient of 15 awards, which equals the total number of Filmfare awards by Amitabh Bachchan in the popular categories (as on 2016).
 

Shah Rukh Khan – Holds the record of maximum best actor category (14) 

The most popular Khan for the past 25 years or so, he created many records in Filmfare Awards. He shares the record with Dilip Kumar for winning maximum Filmfare awards for best actor category. He is a recipient of 14 Filmfare Awards from 30 nominations and special awards, making it a record at Filmfare. Apart from best actor award, he also won best villain award, critics’ award and best debutant award. He is the only actor to receive award in best actor and best negative role categories, and is the only lead hero to receive three nominations in negative role category. He along with Kajol is the most celebrated pair of Bollywood, and they together have delivered big blockbusters such as DDLJ, K3G and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Also known as ‘King of romance’ he has a huge fan following crowd and most of his films have remained successful at box office. 
 

Javed Akhtar – Awards belonging to lyrics, dialogues and screenplay categories (14)

 
Like Gulzar, he is one of the finest and senior-most writers of Bollywood at present. He along with Salim Khan has given some of the memorable scripts for Bollywood cinema. He is a recipient of thirteen Filmfare Awards which include 8 awards in best lyricist category (from 26 nominations). He won award for best dialogues as a solo writer once and aside Salim Khan once. Salim-Javed duo also received three Filmfare awards for best screenplay which is a record up-to-date. They share the record with Basu Chatterjee and Rajkumar Hirani.
 

Bimol Roy – Holds the record of maximum wins in best director category (11)

 
Regarded as the best director of Hindi film industry, he played a significant role in shaping the industry in the 1950s and till his death in 1966. He directed some of the milestone movies of Bollywood such as Madhumati, Do Bheega Zameen, Parakh, Parineeta, Sujata, Devdas, Bandini etc. He received 7 elite awards for best director and four for best film category, thus summing to a total of 11. His record of 7 records for best director is still unbroken after 50 years.
 

Raj Kapoor – The real showman of Bollywood with 11 awards from 21 nominations (11)

 
One of the most versatile artists of Bollywood, he has been nominated in best film, best director, best editing and best actor categories multiple times. Of 21 Filmfare nominations in total, he converted 11 of them to awards. He earned best actor twice, best director four times, best editing twice and best film thrice. Boot Polish, Anari, Sangham, Mera Naam Joker, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, Ram Teri Ganga Maili and Prem Rog earned him awards in different categories.
 

Rajkumar Hirani – Master of comedies and thought-provoking ideas (11)

 
He has directed only 4 films up-to-date and all of them created new box office records. For these 4 films, he earned 11 Filmfare awards in writing and direction categories. His total awards include – 3 awards each for best dialogue and screenplay, 2 awards each for Critics Award for Best Film and Best story and 1 award for best direction.
 

Yash Chopra – 10 awards in best direction and film categories total (10)

 
One of the celebrated film makers of Bollywood and regarded as a trendsetter, he brought in many successful trends in Bollywood in his illustrious film career of more than 50 years. Shooting in foreign locations and also rediscovery of romance and musicals in Bollywood through Chandini in late 1980s are some of the major changes he brought in Bollywood film industry. Yash Chopra received 10 Filmfare awards in total with 4 awards each in best film and best director categories, and one special award. He was also honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013 following his sad demise. Yash Chopra has made films on a wide range of topics, and earned more appreciation for romantic and family dramas.
 

Sanjay Leela Bhansali – Known for colourful love sagas with a classic touch (10)

 
He mostly handles traditional and historic subjects and has given some of the memorable romantic movies in the recent times. Till now he has received 10 awards – 4 each in best director and best film categories, and 2 in Critics choice – best director award category. Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas and Black are his masterpiece works, which won multiple awards at various award functions including National awards.
 

Dilip Kumar – Shares the record with King Khan for maximum best actor awards (9) 

This legendary actor is also known as ‘King of Tragedy’. One of the finest actors Bollywood has ever produced, he currently holds the record aside King Khan for winning maximum number of Filmfare awards in the best actor category. Both have received 8 awards each in the best actor category and Dilip earned 19 nominations in this category, next to Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Dilip Kumar has received 9 Filmfare awards in total. His 9th one is Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993. He currently holds the Guinness World Record for winning the maximum number of awards by an Indian actor. Mughal-e-Azam, Devdas, Ganga Jamuna and Naya Daur are among his major movies, and many of those B&W classics have been fully colourised and re-released in the 2000s. Though known for his serious and tragic roles, he showcased his talent for light comedies in movies like Kohinoor.
 

Shankar Jaikishen – The first composers to score a hat-trick in best music category (9)

 
The most popular and successful music directors in the glorious era of Bollywood music they held the record in this category with 9 Filmfare awards from 20 nominations. The record was later broken by A. R. Rahman in 2012 by winning his 10th Filmfare award in this category, after 4 decades! Last of the three of S-J’s awards formed a hat-trick in the early 1970s, before a glorious era came to an end with the death of Jaikishan in 1971. Asha Bhosle – Holds the record in the female playback singer category alongside Alka Yagnik (9) 

 The singing legend Asha won her first Filmfare award for 1967 movie –Dus Lakh when separate categories were announced for male and female playback singers. She is the only female playback singer to win 4 Filmfare awards in a row, equaling her record with Kishore Kumar. Later Kumar Sanu broke the record in the 1990s. She along with Alka Yagnik holds the maximum wins in this category. She won 7 Filmfare awards from 18 nominations, and two more awards. She was given a special award for her songs of Rangeela in 1996. She was also honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. Kishore Kumar – Created a Filmfare record by winning 4 awards in a row (8)

 
The most popular playback singer of Bollywood, he was a genius who exhibited his talents in film direction, music direction, acting as well as writing lyrics. He won 8 Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer, and currently holds the record of winning the most Filmfare Awards in this category. In addition to it, he also owns 19 more nominations in the same category. Thus he owns a total number of nominations of 27 in male category which itself is a record. His association with R. D. Burman is indeed popular. In 1985, he earned all the four nominations for the category. Incidentally all the songs belong to Amitabh Bachchans’ Sharaabi. He is the first artist to score a hat-trick in this category, and years later Arijit Singh also completed this feat in year 2020, with the title song of Kalank
 

Jaya Bachchan – Winner of three best actress trophies in the 1970s (8)

 
Bollywood’s one of the finest actresses of 1970s, she won three out of 10 best actress trophies in the decade. Made her comeback in the late 1990s, she played some of the powerful supporting roles onscreen and bagged three awards in this category. She is also a recipient of Special Award for Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa and Lifetime Achievement Award. She won 8 nominations in total in best actress category, and except Silsila, 7 nominations belong to the era of 1970s.
 

Anupam Kher – holds the record of maximum trophies in best comedian category (8)

 
He received best comedian award 5 times resulted from 10 nominations. The versatile and flexible actor earned fame as one of the finest comedians and character artists of Bollywood cinema. In addition to it, he has won once – best actor, best supporting actor and best actor critics’ choice awards. He received nomination in best supporting actor category 7 times, and won it only once for Vijay in 1988.
 

Saroj Khan – Holds the record of maximum awards in Choreography (8)

 
Started her career as a background dancer in the late 1950s, with 1980s she turned one of the finest choreographers of Bollywood. She gave steps to numerous Madhuri Dixit dance numbers including Maar Daala, Dola Re, Choli Ke Peeche, Hum Ko Aaj Kal Hai, Tamma Tamma Loge, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga and Ek Do Teen. Saroj Khan has earned Filmfare awards in three decades, thus a unique recognition. She also holds the record of maximum National awards in this category.
 

Aamir Khan – The perfectionist with 19 nominations in best actor category (8) 

When Aamir Khan marked his debut as a director in Bollywood through Tare Zameen Par, he got into the league of a few actors who own a successful career in direction as well. He also earned Filmfare trophy for best director and best film for this film. He won Filmfare Best Actor award thrice for his performance in Raja Hindustani, Dangal and Lagaan. He also owns a Filmfare record for being successfully nominated in best actor category for continuous 9 years since 1989. He became desperate and expressed his dissatisfaction for not receiving award for Rangeela, and the following year he earned his first Filmfare award for best actor through Raja Hindustani. His record of being continuously nominated in the category also came to an end with the reception of his maiden award in this category which was only his second award after his debutant trophy. With second half of 1990s, he reduced the huge volume of his work, and concentrate to release just one film or two in a year, and most of them have earned him nomination at Filmfare in best actor category. Till now Aamir received 19 nominations in best actor category, apart from 7 nominations in different categories. He also won Critics’ choice best actor award for Rang De Basanti. Thus his total count of Filmfare awards is 8.
 

Hrishikesh Mukherjee – The real master of ‘middle cinema’ & classic comedies in Bollywood (7)

 
He was an ace film editor before he switched to filmmaking. When editing category was introduced in Filmfare, he was the first editor to receive the award (Naukari – 1955). He aside Raj Kapoor and A. Sreekar Prasad shares the record of maximum awards in editing category (3). He received Filmfare best film award twice and best screenplay and story one each. Chupke Chupke, Anari, Anand, Abhimaan, Bawarchi, Namak Haraam, Asli Naqli, Mili, Golmaal, Khubsoorat and Guddi are some of his major works as a film director. 
 

Laxmikant-Pyarelal – Holds the record of most nominations in best music director category (7)

 
The duo has been nominated 25 times in a period that spans to three decades. The duo was first nominated in the year 1965 for Dosti, and they won the award as well. They beat Madan Mohan’s classic songs of Woh Kaun Thi to receive the award. They surprised music fans for the second time in 1970 when they won Filmfare award for Jeene Ki Raah beating the most popular album of the year Aradhana, composed by S. D. Burman.
 

Manoj Kumar – Known for patriotic movies (7)

 
Gained popularity as a romantic hero in the 1960s, he later moved to patriotic movies with Upkaar in 1967 and earned the nickname “Bharat Kumar”. He produced and directed many movies where he played lead role. He received Filmfare Best Director Award twice, and best actor, best story writer, best movie maker and best dialogue writer one time each. Filmfare honoured him with Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. As a filmmaker – Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, Upkaar and Purab Aur Paschim are his landmark movies.
 

Alka Yagnik – Holds the record in the female playback singer category alongside Asha Bhosle (7) 

She has been the most successful female voice of 1990s and the first half of 2000s. She currently leads the nomination list with 36, and far more than Kishore Kumar’s 27 nominations in the corresponding male category. She sang for almost leading heroines of 1990s and later, and some of her popular songs include – Ek Do Teen, Choli Ke Peeche, Meri Mehbooba, Taal Se Taal, Dil Ne Yeh Kaha Hai Dil Se, O Re Chhori and Sasom Ko Sasom Mein which bagged her Filmfare awards. It also includes a hat-trick. In 1994 Filmfare awards, she received all the nominations in the female playback singer category and won it for Khalnaayak. Only Asha Bhosle has made this achievement before in the year 1973 when she received all the three nominations. Chamma Chamma, Dekha Hai Pehli Baar, Aise Deewanagi, Bahom Ki Darmiyaan, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Odni, Jaane Kyon, Baazigar O Baazigar and San Sanana are some of the evergreen songs which earned her nomination at Filmfare.

Rani Mukerji – Two awards each in popular awards and critics’ choice for best actress (7)

 
One of the finest actresses of Bollywood at present, she received her first award for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1999 for best supporting actress. Since then she received three more awards in this category, apart from two awards each in popular awards and critics’ choice for best actress. She is one among those lucky stars to win both popular and critics’ award for a single film, and she received it for Black – the movie regarded as her career best. Lata Mangeshkar – Won the first Filmfare award in the best playback singer category (6)

 
It’s she who insisted to recognize playback singers too, at Filmfare awards. Thus the following year the new category was introduced, and she won the award for the evergreen classic, “Aaja Re Pardesi” from Madhumati in 1958. After that she won the award three times for the songs – Kahi Deep Jale Kahi Dil, Tumhi Mere Mandir Tumhi Meri Pooja and Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage, before she decided not to accept awards any more. She did so to promote young singers, and almost one decade later Asha Bhosle too stopped receiving Filmfare awards. Rajesh Khanna – The first superstar to receive a Filmfare award (6) 

When Rajesh Khanna stormed the whole nation with Aradhana magic in 1969, many people believed that he will received best actor trophy too. But the actor had to wait one more year to get ‘the black lady’. He received it for the 1970 movie, Sachaa Jhutha for his double role (first male actor to win this honour for double role) and won it successively the next year too. He won the trophy for the movie Anand, the movie regarded as his career best in terms of performance. He earned his third award for Aavishkar in 1975, and later received three more ‘special’ trophies. He received Filmfare nomination for best actor 14 times, which indeed is a great achievement. He received his first nomination for Aradhana and Ittefaq in 1970. He was honoured with Life Time Achievement award at the 50th anniversary of Filmfare awards conducted in 2005. Mohammed Rafi – The King of melodies won it 6 times next to Kishore da (6)

 
Rafi won 5 of his Filmfare awards in the 1960s, and the final one in 1978 for the song, ‘Kya Hua Tera Waada’. He fully dominated music scene in the 1960s and lost his dominance with the early 1970s. Still he remains the most gifted and talented male playback singer of Bollywood. His unique and distinct voice suited all romantic heroes of Bollywood of 1950s and 1960s. Apart from Shammi Kapoor, his voice was frequently used for Rajendra Kumar, Dharmendra, Shashi Kapoor, Joy Mukherji, Biswajeet and Raaj Kumar in the 1960s. Basu Chatterjee – The legendary filmmaker who takes subjects from middle class issues (6)

 

His movies belong to a separate class, and definitely own repeat value. His movies dealing with problems of middle class are extremely popular, and he received 6 Filmfare awards – 3 Screenplays, 2 Critics Awards for Best Movie and one best director award. Chhoti Si Baat, Baton Baton Mein, Chitchor, Rajnigandha, Piya Ka Ghar and Sara Akash are his masterpiece works.

Nutan – Maximum number of awards in the best female actress category (6) 

Nutan, along with her niece Kajol currently holds the record of maximum number of Filmfare awards in best female actor category. She won it 5 times for the movies, Seema, Sujata, Bandini, Milan and Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki and one in best supporting actress category for the movie, Jung, making it a total of 6. One of the top actresses of 1950s and 1960s, she frequently won the award during the glorious years of Hindi cinema. Years later, her niece Kajol followed her foot steps and established herself as one of the leading names of Bollywood. Nutan is known for tear-jerking social dramas while Kajol appeared in light comedies.  
 

Arijit Singh – The most popular male playback singer of the decade of 2010s (6)

 
Needless to say, he is the most sought male playback voice of Bollywood at present. He shot to fame with Tum Hi Ho song of Aashique 2 in 2013, for which he earned his first Filmfare award (and also nomination) for best playback male singer. There was no turning back after that. After that he won 5 more Filmfare awards in the same category till 2020 from a total of 14 nominations. Sooraj Doobe Hain from Roy (2015), Title song from Ee Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), Roke Na Ruke Naina from Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya (2017), E Watan from Raazi (2018) and Title track from Kalank (2019) are the songs which bagged him the awards. Thus he completed a hat-trick in this category, and the third artist to achieve this feat in this category after Kishore Kumar and Kumar Sanu. He also equalled Kumar Sanu’s record to win this honour 5 times in a row, since 2016.
 

Tabu – Holds the record of maximum awards in Critics’ choice (6) 

One of the versatile actresses of Bollywood since 1990s, she currently holds the record of winning maximum awards at Filmfare Critics Choice Female category. Till now she has bagged 4 awards from Critics’ choice category, apart from winning one each from debut female and supporting actress categories. Despite receiving 6 nominations in Best actress category, she has never won the award, making it a record at Filmfare. She is second to Salman Khan in receiving maximum nominations in best actor/actress category without any win. Maachis, Virasat, Astitva, Chandini Bar, Haider, Cheeni Kum and Hu Tu Tu are counted among her finest roles up-to-date, and currently she has moved to mother roles. Anil Kapoor – Won Filmfare awards for acting in different categories in 4 decades (6)

 
Anil Kapoor received his first Filmfare award in the best supporting actor for Mashaal in 1985. After that he has received the same award twice. A recipient of 2 awards for best actor from 8 nominations, he is also a recipient of Critics Award for Best Actor for Virasat. From 15 nominations belonging to different categories (excluding his critics’ category award), he has received a total of 6 Filmfare awards.
 

Madhuri Dixit – The female superstar of Bollywood 1990s with 16 nominations (6) 

She currently owns the record of maximum nominations in Filmfare best actress category – 14 times, and has won it 6 times which include four in the Best Actress category and one in the Best Supporting Actress category. The most celebrated female star of 1990s, she has played varied kinds of roles onscreen and she catapulted into fame playing Nisha in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. Beta, Tezaab, Dil, Saajan, Anjaam, Devdas, Raja, Sailaab, Khalnayak and Dil To Pagal Hai are among her major hits. She owns an outstanding career record with big Khans of Bollywood. Known as one of the best dancers of Bollywood, currently she is seen in reality shows on Television, where she acts as a judge. Her association with Saroj Khan is quite famous, the artist who received maximum number of filmfare awards for best choreographer.

Kajol – along with her aunt holds the record of maximum awards in best actress category (6) 

Kajol aside her aunt, Nutan currently holds the record of maximum awards in best actress category. Both have won 5 awards each. She became the first female artist to win best villain category award too. Thus she has won 6 awards in total. After her marriage, she occasionally appears in Bollywood films and grabbed three of her awards in the best actress category post her marriage. She remains one of the top actresses of Bollywood who remained successful after marriage. She starred in DDLJ, which is the longest running Indian film. It’s the first movie which bagged her Filmfare award in best actress category, followed by Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum, Fanna and My Name Is Khan. Shreya Ghoshal – May break many records in future (6)

 
The ruling queen of hearts, Shreya Ghoshal is unanimously the top female voice of new generation singers after Alka Yagnik. She earned her first Filmfare award for the first film which she recorded, and very soon rose to fame with a series of soulful melodies. Read her best 50 songs here. She won her maiden Filmfare for “Dola Re Dola” song aside Kavita Krishnamurthy, and later received the award for “Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai”, “Barso Re”, “Teri Ore” and the most recent “Deewani Mastani” after a break of long 8 years. She is a recipient of 4 National awards also. Till now she has received 20 nominations at Filmfare. She is also a recipient of Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent, thus winning 6 awards up-to-date.
 

Farah Khan – Won 6 awards since mid-1990s (6)

 
Though she has established as a successful film director and choreographer of Bollywood, she received nominations and awards only for her choreography career. Known for her successful association with Shah Rukh Khan, till now she has won 6 Filmfare awards. She received the award for the first time for the song “Dhol Bajne Laga” from Virasat. She choreographed “Munni Badnaam Hui” and “Sheila Ki Jawani”, both in the year 2009 and both these songs are the most popular item songs of Bollywood ever.
 

Kareena Kapoor – The best find among female artists of the new millennium (6)

 
She won her first Filmfare as a debutant for 2000 year film Refugee. She won best actress once, Critics’ choice twice and Best Supporting Actress twice. She also bagged a special award for Chameli in 2004. In short Kareena earned a total of 6 Filmfare awards. 
 

Saif Ali Khan – Never received a Filmfare in best actor category (6) 

Leading Khan of Bollywood, next to three big Khans, Saif Ali Khan too is a recipient of Filmfare awards 6 times. Though he has never received the award for best actor category, he earned accolades as a comedian, villain and supporting actor several times. He won Filmfare awards for best comedian for Hum Tum and Dil Chahta Hai, and supporting actor for Kal Ho Naa Ho which proved to be the major breakthrough role of his career. He earned 6 awards out of 9 nominations which include best villain award for Omkara. Ironically he received National award for best actor for Hum Tum, the movie which gave him a comedy actor award at Filmfare. One of the stylish heroes of Bollywood at present who received Filmfare “Moto Look of the Year” award for Kal Ho Naa Ho.
 

Vidya Balan – The female superstar of Bollywood with 5 awards (5)

Kumar Sanu – Owns the record of Best Male Playback Singer Award for five consecutive years (5)

 
When Kumar Sanu won his fifth and final Filmfare award for the year 1994, a new record was born. He became the first playback singer to win 5 Filmfare awards in a row, breaking Kishore Kumar’s previous record. He won the award for the songs – Ab Tere Bin, Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai, Sochenge Tumhe Pyaar, Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha. However he never received an award later, despite remaining as the top male playback singer throughout 1990s.
 

Udit Narayan – Had a success streak in three decades which itself is a record (5)

 
If Kumar Sanu won his 5 Filmfare awards in a row, for Udit Narayan – his contemporary and arch-rival, it was something uniform throughout his career. In popularity, he remained only next to Kumar Sanu in the 1990s, and won 4 out of his 5 Filmfare awards after 1994, interestingly three in the decade. Thus he leveled Kumar Sanu in total number of Filmfare awards received. Pardesi Pardesi, Papa Kahte HaiBada Naam, Mehandi Lagake Rakhna, Chand Chupa Badal Mein and Mitwaa of Lagaan are the songs which bagged him Filmfare. He remained quite successful singing for Aamir Khan, and also for Shah Rukh Khan in a few movies.
 

Hrithik Roshan – The gifted artist of Bollywood at present with 5 awards (5) 

The best find of the new millennium, Hrithik started his hunt for Filmfare with his first movie itself. After Rishi Kapoor, he became the only actor of Bollywood who bagged Filmfare award for best actor for his debut movie as a hero. Both have earlier played childhood and teen roles before they marked their debut as lead hero through Bobby and Kaho Na Pyar Hai respectively. Hrithik is the only Bollywood actor to win the Filmfare trophies for best actor and best debutant. In 2004 he earned both best actor popular choice and critics’ choice awards, which itself is an achievement. Later he bagged Filmfare award for best actor for two more movies Dhoom 2 and Jodha Akbar, and both these movies starred Aishwarya Rai as his female lead. Till now Hrithik has received 11 nominations in the best actor category. 
 

Kamal Bose – Earned Filmfare awards in association with Bimal Roy (5)

 
He successfully shot Bimal Roy’s classics – Parineeta, Do Bigha Zamin, Bandini, Devdas and Sujata in black and white frame, and with 1980s, did colour work for Bollywood blockbusters like Qurbani. He also handled camera work for Asit Sen’s Khamoshi and Anokhi Raat. He earned Filmfare award for best cinematographer for Dharmatma in colour and the rest four movies shot in B&W.
 

Ranbir Kapoor – Five awards from ten nominations (5)

 
One of the talented actors of present generation, he won his first Filmfare award for his debut film ‘Saawariya’. Rockstar is one of his finest performances up-to-date which earned him both best actor popular and best actor critics’ choice award. He is a recipient of two awards each in best actor popular and best actor critics’ choice categories.
 

Priyanka Chopra – Five awards in five categories (5)

 
She received Best Female Debut award for the movie – Andaaz in 2004. She won her second Filmfare for negative role she played in Aitraaz. She won her third award for best actress (Fashion), followed by Critics’ choice best actress award (7 Khoon Maaf) and best supporting actress for Bajirao Mastani.
 

Anurag Kashyap – Awards through offbeat movies and gangster stories (5)

 
Highly acclaimed director of Bollywood, he directed offbeat films – Udaan, Gangs of Wasseypur, That Girl in Yellow Boots, Dev D and Gulaal. Udaan earned him Best Story and Best Screenplay Award aside Vikramaditya Motwane. For Gangs of Wasseypur,he received Critics Award Best Movie and also shared the award for best dialogues with three writers. Queenearned him best editor award aside Abhijit Kokate.
 

Vidhu Vinod Chopra – Bagged awards for Munna Bhai series and 3 Idiots (5)

 
He received his first Filmfare award in Best Director category for Parinda. Munna Bhai M.B.B.S earned him best screenplay award. Lage Raho Munna Bhai received Best story awardand 3 Idiots received Best film and screenplay awards. He received 15 nominations in total.
 

Rajkumar Santoshi – 5 awards in 5 categories (5)

 
Ghayal earned him Filmfare award for best story and direction, followed by Ghatak for best screenplay, China Gate for Best Dialogue and Critics Award for Best Film for The Legend of Bhagat Singh.
 

Shabana Azmi – The most recent entry to the list (5)

She is a recipient of three best actress trophies, a Lifetime achievement award and she received her first supporting actress award for her stellar performance in Neerja most recent in 2017. 
 
As far as I know, Gulzar is the Bollywood personality who received maximum Filmfare awards (21), followed by Amitabh Bachchan, A. R. Rahman and Shah Rukh Khan. Among female artists, Asha Bhosle leads the list with 9 trophies, followed by Jaya Bachchan and Saroj Khan with 8 awards each. Data is updated till Filmfare Awards 2019
