Your Most Favourite Lata Mangeshkar Song Featured Which Bollywood Actress?
Lata – The soul of Bollywood music of 1950s and 1960s. Almost all leading ladies of 1950s to 1990s have sync-lipped to Lata voice for at least one Bollywood film. Which one is your favourite Lata Mangeshkar song? That particular song was pictured on which actress? Here is the list of My Top 10 Lata Songs, and among the list Sadhna Shivdasani tops the list. She is also featured in my most favourite Lata Mageshkar song.
Yes, my most favourite Lata song is Nayana Barse Rhimjhim Rhimjhim from Woh Kaun Thi? composed by Madan Mohan featuring Sadhna and Manoj Kumar. I don’t know how many times I have listened to this song, I find it always fresh and rejoicing. Sadhna appears with her sparkling eyes and mysterious smile for this song, and intense romance and passion are deeply expressed through its lyrics written by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan. Lyrics of Raja Saab are truly magical and intense which fully express how absence of a person can affect u deeply.
Not only that, my second favourite song too belongs to the same film featuring the same lead pair, and this extremely romantic song is ‘Lag Jaa Gale’ – of course the favourite of many. The quadrumvirate of Madan Mohan-Lata Mangeshkar-Sadhna Shivdasani and Raja Mehdi Ali Khan of 1960s was a deadly combination similar to quadrumvirate of 1970s consisting of R. D. Burman, Rajesh Khanna, Kishore Kumar and Anand Bakshi.
The amazing combination of 4 legends of Bollywood cinema gave evergreen classics such as Woh Kaun Thi? and Mera Saaya. Among the list of 10 of my favourite songs, three of them exclusively belong to the celebrated quadrumvirate of 1960s, and all these are solo tracks sung by Lata. The third song is Naino Mein Badra Chhaye from Mera Saaya. A fourth song, Ajee Rootkar Ab also belongs to Sadhna and Lata, though composed by Shankar Jaikishen. Woh Kaun Thi (1964) was the most popular album of Madan Mohan till then, and his first silver jubilee hit. He composed music for less successful movies till then. Naina Barse Rhimjim was originally composed in the year 1952, but rejected by a film director during Madan Mohan’s struggling days. After K3G, Lataji got less active in movies. This particular song is one of the memorable songs among her last hits. Hope to hear a few more Lata songs for Bollywood movies. I think she has virtually taken retirement from playback singing. Same is the case of Asha Bhosle too.
Ae mere vatan ke logon, jara aankh me bhar lo paani- jo hsaheed….
I need to add one more important point. Lataji gave some memorable songs to Jaya Bhaduri in the 1970s, when she was the lead actress
Aankh Mein Paani aa jaata hai yaar….. Hats off to Lata and Kavi Prateep
