VJ Rakshan – Tamil TV anchor and film actor of ‘Kalakka Povathu Yaaru?’ and ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’ fame

Rakshan, popularly known as VJ Rakshan is a VJ turned film actor. He is associated with Tamil film and television industry. He started his career as a video jockey, TV host and anchor in Tamil TV channel, Star Vijay and later received his breakthrough role into films through ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’ in 2020, playing parallel lead aside DQ. He hosted 5^th, 6^th and 7^th seasons of TV show, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru? since 2015, followed by Ready Steady Po in 2019 and anchored Cooku with Comali (2019) before marking his screen debut in 2020. His role as Kallis, Dulquer Salman’s pal in Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal was well received.

Rakshan started his career as a radio jockey before turning a TV host and anchor

Rakshan was born and brought up in Chennai. He was born in 1991. He used to anchor shows since his school days, and continued it in college days. He was a radio jockey before joining television. He marked his television debut anchoring the 5^th season of comedy reality show, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru? during 2015-2106. Following the success of the show, he continued anchoring the show for the next two seasons till 2018. The show made him a household name among Tamil TV viewers.

He appeared as a groom for the show Thaazhampoo and as a contestant in Start Music, both aired in 2019. He also anchored the show, Cooku with Comali. He also appeared in a few music albums.

He made his big screen debut through Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal

His popularity in television gave him the big break to Kollywood. Along with DQ, he received a lot of screen space in his debut flick, Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, a romantic thriller heist film scripted and directed by debutante Desingh Periyasamy. Along with his acting skills, his screen chemistry with Dulquer Salman and his comic timing in Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal earned him a lot of praises. The movie received rave reviews from critics, for its unique plot and unpredictable twists.
