Vendakka Vazhattiyath (Sauted Okra)

Ingredients for Vendakka Vazhattiyath (Sauted Okra):

1. Okra – 1 kg

2. Oil – 1 big spoon

3. Cumin seeds – 1 small spoon

    Mustard – ½ small spoon

4. Green chilly – 1, end split

    Salt – As required

5. Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

How to prepare Vendakka Vazhattiyath (Sauted Okra)?

1. Wash okra and remove the moisture content.

2. Cut off the two ends, and cut in ¼ inch round pieces.

3. Heat oil, sauté mustards and cumin seeds.

4. Then add green chili and salt, and sauté again.

5. Then add okra pieces and turmeric powder and mix well.

6. Close the lid and cook in low flame for 15 minutes.

7. Stir with the contents with a spatula once in a while to avoid sticking to bottom.
