Mushroom – Prawns Curry (Koon Konju Curry)

Ingredients for Mushroom – Prawns Curry (Koon Konju Curry):

1. Mushroom – 250 gm

    Corn flour and salt – For dip fry

    Oil – For frying

2. Prawns big sized or lobsters – 100gm

    Turmeric powder – 100gm

    Red chillies powder – ½ small spoon

    Salt – For taste

3. Coconut oil – 1 big spoon

    Mustard – ½ small spoon

    Curry leaves – 1 stalk

4. Onions chopped into very fine pieces – 1 big

    Green chillies chopped – 2

    Garlic paste – 1 small spoon

    Ginger paste – 1 small spoon

    Tomato – 1 finely chopped

5. Chilli powder – 1 big spoon

    Coriander powder – ½ big spoon

    Turmeric powder – ¼ small spoon

6. Garam masala powder – ½ small spoon

    Salt – As needed

7. Curry leaves – 1 stalk

How to prepare Mushroom – Prawns Curry (Koon Konju Curry)?

1. Cut mushrooms to pieces.

2. Add enough salt and water to corn flour to prepare the batter and dip dry mushroom pieces in hot oil.

3. Marinate prawns with ingredients no: 2 and allow it to rest for 15 minutes.

4. Then deep fry prawns in hot oil and keep aside.

5. Heat 1 big spoon coconut oil in an earthen pot and splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves.

6. Then sauté ingredients no: 4 till the content is well cooked.

7. Add powders listed as 5 and fry till the aroma changes to a nice flavour.

8. Now add cooked mushrooms and prawns, sufficient water along with garam masala powder and salt and boil in high flame for three minutes.

9. Now simmer the flame, close the lid and cook for 10 more minutes.

10. When curry turns thick and oil separates, add a little curry leaves and put the flame off.
