Ingredients for Curry Nercha:
- Coconut – 5
- Raw rice powder – ½ kg (Pachari)
- Jaggery – ½ kg
- Palayamkodan banana (a small type banana) – 30
- Puzhukkalari (parboiled rice – brown colour) – ½ kg
- Chukk (dried ginger), Cumin seeds and Cardamom – as per taste
How to prepare Curry Nercha?
- Wash Pachari and powder it.
- Dry fry puzhukkalari and grind it also.
- Remove banana skin and slice it to thin pieces.
- Melt jaggery and remove impurities.
- Extract coconut milk from coconut.
- Mix coconut milk, raw rice powder (pachari) and jaggery together and boil it well.
- Add bananas and stir well, according to the cooking of rice.
- Add puzhukkalari powder along with dried ginger, cumin seeds and cardamom. Stir it well and take your payasam from flame.
- It should not be too thick or too watery. It should be similar to payasam.
