Urulakizhangu Mulak Varattiyath (Potato with Chilli Sauted)

Ingredients for Urulakizhangu Mulak Varattiyath (Potato with Chilli Sauted):

1. Potato – 450 gms

2. Kashmiri Chilli – 25 gms

3. Cumin – 1.5 tsp

    Garlic – 4 cloves

4. Oil – 6 table spoons

5. Tamarind juice – 4 table spoons

    Seeds of tomato (inner portion) – 2 table spoons

    Curry leaves – 1 stem

    Sugar, salt – As needed

    Asafoetida powder – ¼ tsp

How to prepare Urulakizhangu Mulak Varattiyath (Potato with Chilli Sauted)?

1. Boil potatoes.

2. Soak chillies in water for a while, and make a fine paste along with ingredients no: 3.

3. Heat oil in a pan and sauté this gravy.

4. Add ingredients no: 5 and sauté again.

5. When a thin layer of oil appears on the surface, add potato and reduce the flame.

6. Cook for 5 minutes and put off the flame.

7. Serve hot with rice or chapati.
